She keeps saying she’s from Blackburn when she isn’t (Langho in the Ribble Valley) which annoys me and more so my daughter who went to the same school in Clitheroe as her - so who cares. Maybe she thinks cause it’s a bigger population she’ll get more votes

I think it's more that no one outside of these parts has heard of Langho, so they've gone with her nearest big town that people will have heard of.

Just listened on YouTube. Every female singer seems to try to follow the Ellie goulding model these days.

Well we in our household thinks she's brilliant. For us the Bowie song was top drawer. She's going on to have a great music career regardless of whether she wins or not.

I think Bowie would turn in his grave if he heard it.

Try this link if you need a bit of help in how it should be sung

Totally agree. Why do people sing using a different voice? With her natural singing voice she would sound so much better, particularly that Bowie song.

Don't need the link CT, I have his album. It's all about opinion. I thought Grace's version was so different, as they say in the business "she made it her own" .

I've literally just listened to it this afternoon and am not majorly a Bowie fan, but she was all over the place. She started well but when it got to the first high part she started with unnecessary riffs and runs and went into some farmer accent and that's when it went downhill.

Just seen and listened to this for the first time and don't particularly like her version of the Bowie classic nor her voice tbh

I don't usually watch this program because it's not my thing but I have followed this year. Think Grace on the whole has sung well and with her own songs, shows she has talent.

Regardless if she wins (which I think she will albeit I think it will be very close with Rak-Su), I think she will do the best out of any of this year's crop in terms of a career in music.

Thought she was a tribute act, still do, too much Adele about her to be considered an original act.

Only seen the link above, what's with the yodelling/gargling noises ?

Sounds like the Churchill advert, arr yeeeesss !

PS I agree, she killed the high notes. It seems to be a proven
formula, so she'll do ok.

No it’s not.

Langho is in the borough of Ribble Valley. There isn’t a single part of Blackburn (or Burnley) in Ribble Valley.

Rather strange article in the " Lancashire Telegraph " the other day, revealing that her Grandfather and Great Grandfather both played for Blackburn Rovers, and that her Grandad scored a winning goal for Rovers against Burnley ! Seems completely irrelevent to me, she's a local girl with a talent, best of luck to her !!

Really?? What's the point of petty local tribalism then? It's totally relevant!!!!

UTC!

I used to go out with a a girl from Langho. Whilst in an administrative sense it may not be Blackburn, geographically and spiritually if felt like it, with Blackburn being the biggest local town, it was where everyone went out.... so it certainly is not 'neutral' so to speak.

Are you serious, regardless of where she is from she is actually a very talented songwriter, musician and singer....

And it just shows the standard when the 2 acts that go through are both writing their own material....

At least Grace has an affinity with the songs clearly they are personal to her and she is passionate about her music, not just a clone covering some inane garbage, the rap group are too up themselves for my liking, there is a thin line between confidence and arrogance.

As good as she might be, it wasn't good enough to beat a rap group that sounds like every other rap group out there.

Not much to choose from was there, more like stars in their eyes than the x factor. An Adele tribute, a Jimmy Hendrix tribute and a 2017 version of the four tops.
