When arsenal scored and the fans were leaving one guy decided to abuse everybody walking out, it got quite heated and he was going absolutely nuts. Some of our fans are complete d!ckheads, the guy must have been 50-60 years old. Sad really.

As soon as the ball hit the back of the net hundreds of fickle fans got up and walked out, rather than stay a minute or two and get behind the team and applaud them off. And yes, it was me shouting at em. By the way, I'm 61, so thanks for the compliment

A minute or two to clap followed by an extra 10 minutes walk due to the crowds then 30 minutes in traffic. You don't have to like them leaving but shouting at people is a bit much.

Totally agree. It was obvious that a large number of fans at the front left as soon as Arsenal scored. These are the seats that are empty for the games like swansea. I too was shouting but just to tell them to stay 2 mins and clap them off. These weren't people nicking off early to miss the traffic. Each to their own but I think the players deserve more.

I’d have told the tit to mind his own business. If you pay your money you can come and go as you please, and don’t have to be dictated to by some gobby idiot who has a different opinion, and maybe a bit more time on their hands that day. It’s been happening since the birth of the game that people nip off early, and some stay. It’s mainly to avoid the crowds in some form or other.

I used to get annoyed at the bloke leaving on our row, but I don't bother anymore.

Whatever his reasons, its up to him.

But please stop stopping in front of me when the game gets exciting though, that is still annoying!

I was in JML on Sunday and I heard the bloke sat behind me saying "Where were all this lot against Swansea". I could have started arguing that I wasn't there against Swansea, I'm a pensioner travelling from Middlesbrough, I don't get to every game (it was my 3rd home game of the season), I usually sit in JHL but couldn't get a ticket in there, so don't assume we're all just tourists just because we don't have a season ticket.

But where were you against swansea? And were you there against hereford?

O.k. fair enough, this thread has caused enough of a s**t storm already. Apart form the guy with the little lad wanting the toilet I fail to understand what's so important in their lives that 2 minutes is going to make much difference on a Sunday afternoon. Never understood why anyone would want to leave a tight match early. But I was rather angry after the penalty

Clearly some people would rather be somewhere else or do have more important things to do in those two minutes. Who are you to question that?

I always go down into the concourse 2 minutes before the end and watch the end of the match there. That gives me a head start so I can go through Thompson Park to where I park my car on Pheasantford Green. From there I can usually get onto Greenhead Lane and down the bypass, through Padiham and back up to Ightenhill missing the traffic but not missing any of the game. It works for me so I'll keep on doing it. Don't care what some gobby tw@t of a self styled superfan thinks.

Left early against Notts County and meant i never saw ian wright score against us never left early since until city away this season. **** weather. **** result. **** traffic. Had somewhere to be and was still late

And while I recognise their right to do as they please I still fail to see why anyone would want to leave a tight match early. Its becoming a trend in modern football in this country. O.k. the traffic might be heavy after the game but surely you accept that if you attend an event with over 20 thousand other people. I go on the bus and have a pint or two myself

To be honest if he was shouting and screaming at folk he's lucky he didn't get a thump

When you have 230 miles to drive, leaving 2 minutes early can easily make a huge difference to how long it takes to get home.

I've done my best to support the team for 90 odd minutes and stay to the end at the away games - so I don't think the players would begrudge me getting home in time for a pint sometimes

People have every right to leave when they want to. It's as simple as that. Unless those complaining, pay for the tickets for them.

The point is. . . Would they have left if we had scored? As soon as the penalty went in they got up and walked out. A gradual trickle of early leavers is hardly noticeable but this was on mass because of the penalty. Doesn't look good. We go a goal down in controversial circumstances and some people reacted by walking out.

Did one of the Arsenal fans not get home though? That's what I want to know!

Football is a game that invokes real passion in some. This guy has a right to his opinion and to voice it; conversely those he is shouting at have a right to reply, even if that is only to tell him to mind his own business.

hells teeth....people do not have to justify why they might choose to leave early ffs.

There are plenty of reasons why someone might choose to leave early for either all of the games or for an individual game. If that reason is that they are pis-sed off at conceding a last minute goal so what ? Tarks left the pitch early and SD was moving pretty sharpish to the tunnel - its a perfectly normal reaction for some people to just get out of somewhere when they are angry and frustrated.

As for questioning where all these fans were for the Swansea game why is this different to any other season. For the big teams we get a bigger crowd - when was the last time we ever sold out for a game against Swansea or one of the other smaller clubs ? It`s the same scenario at most league grounds in the world.

Glad you said that, for a number of different reasons I get to very few games but I'm still a Claret fanatic through and through. I paid my dues years ago when I was a season ticket holder for years and missed one (that's 1) home game in ten years (and that was a friendly) as well as spending Saturdays and quite a few midweeks travelling miles to watch us. I even organised my first wedding on a day that Burnley were away (how's that).
