Injury for Brady.
Nasty clash of legs, no intent.
Leg in a splint. Having a little oxygen
Then carried off.
Did nothing t look good, hope its not long term

I know Arfield has been a great servant for us, but IMO he's just not good enough to take Brady's place for any great length of time. If Brady is out for months, then we'll need to buy in January.

Arfield is fine as a bench option as he is versatile backup, but I totally agree, if Brady is done for the season we will absolutely need to be getting a big cheque out in January for a suitable alternative.

I pray that’s not required but I think it will be.

He steps up Arfield, we needed another wide player before the injury, now we definitely do.... Has the knack of scoring very important goals for us.

As well as his attacking play on the wings I think Brady is key to the football Defour and Cork play in the middle as he is always showing and giving them an option to keep the ball moving on the deck.

Suspect we may have go a bit more direct without Brady as Leicester will find it easier to close down Cork and Defour in the centre

Brady was able to clap our fans while being stretchered off and only had a little oxygen.

Surely if it was a break then he would have had more oxygen?

Looked bad. We have nobody to replace Brady. Could be an awful day in our season. Big error by Pope

Telly saying he's a brace on his leg, still in stadium,
hasn't gone to hospital.

Hopeful.

Surely if that was an option using taylor on the wing we would of done it . Maybe wells might get a chance now an swap jbg to the other side

You could have said the same thing with Mee at centre back. It's an option because he's played wide left for Leeds - well... left wing back, but spent many games in the opponent's half for the majority of the game.

I’m not for one minute saying that Brady won’t be missed, but I’m confident that we will have options to replace him whilst he’s out.
Such a shame for him as he was just starting to get into his stride for us.

The only positive I can take for Robbie is that when he was being stretchered off he applauded the fans and shook Maguire's hand - players usually seem to know when it's a bad injury and he didn't seem to be that distressed about it - I know I'm clutching at positive straws but someone has to :)

Some posters were calling for him to be dropped a few weeks ago.

I'm sure with a week before the next game to work on things without him on the training pitch we'll be fine.

Dyche saying he has been taken to hospital. More likely serious than not.

This from the BBc website:- He had gas, air and heavy strapping on his left leg as he was carried off following a nasty tackle on Maguire.

Just what are they talking about? It was a pure accident with Maguire just getting a foot to the ball as Brady was shooting ---not a tackle at all == and certainly not nasty!

Knee brace sounds like ligaments-hope it isn't ACL.
I knew we would lose about 4pm when i dropped six eggs and lost 3 of them. Anyone want to come round for a grit omelette?

I guess we do have a couple of (IMO) better alternatives to Arfield replacing Brady.

A: JBG moves to the left, and Wells plays on the right
B: Charlie Taylor comes in on the left

If Mr Dyche a says it's more serious than not serious then I fear for Robbie. Our "knocks and "niggles" can be a case of months.
Enjoy you Christmas off Robbie.

I'd give Taylor a go long before Arfield tbh

This is cruel just when we were rocking. Just as big a concern is if anything serious about Ben. 2 holes in our squad that we knew we had and did not sort.

Some people seem to think wells is a winger. He ain't. However I believe that Taylor can and will replace Brady. Different short of player but has pace power and a good crosser.

Correct in the sense that he's a better striker. Incorrect in the sense that he's played as a winger before and played very well there.

Really disappointing that he's out but hopefully not for too long. A young winger/CAM type player would be perfect in Jan.

Otherwise a 433.

Cork Defour Hendrick/Westwood
Wells/Hendrick Wood JBG

Would suit Wells and probably Gudmundsson as he's very good going forward. Would mean Hendrick would play further back though, unless he's pushed wide- like he does for Ireland.

Does well for me as cover on the wing on Fifa.

Barnes can play left side too, he's done that before on occasions.

Barnes on the left in the Premier League? I think I'd rather have you starting there! :D

But nowhere near the standard of Brady or JBG. Neither is arfield. If the injury is for a short time then we are fine, but if it is for the season, using arfield as a first choice winger could destroy our form. Nothing against Scotty but he is nowhere near as quick or as good technically as we need for this team and where we can go. An investment in January is probably required if it is a serious injury. A young Winger/CAM such as Jota who was at Brentford would be an option for the future.

I think if it's worst case scenario and Brady is out for the season, then the plus is that we've got so many points already and are unlikely to be near a relegation scrap. This means the board can be confident of us being in the Premier League next season, which makes spending £10 million in January a calculated risk

Jota is at Birmingham now, and looks dogger.

A winger and number 10 were on the shopping list for summer, they are probably classed as essential purchases now.

No point using shirt numbers as people seem to see them differently. Number 10 as far as I'm concerned is a target man who partners a striker in a 4-4-2 and that's not something we're crying out for. If Brady is out, that's all we're missing - and even then, Taylor could turn out to be a nice replacement. If not, I see that as our only position we'd need to look for in January.
