A man who did good and bad and reaped rewards and paid the price.

Could you enlighten me as to what good he did, Ian?
Made a fortune based on lies, as far as I can see.

Even before he was outed and jailed, large numbers of people despised him for the work he did.

He had a disabled child and did a lot of work for those charities.

Come on Ian - he was the lowest common denominator.
Giving money to charities when those monies are from income derived from ruining other peoples lives does not constitute "doing good".
It's not dissimilar to Hitler donating a bit of the Nazi Gold to rebuilding one of the schools they bombed

Not my favourite chap. However, many went to him to save their skin or sell their story for a few quid and he delivered.

Let he without sin cast the first stone and all that eh ?
There's a big difference between make a few mistakes in life and making yourself a career from lying, cheating and making people suffer.....and then some

Similar to Jimmy Savile then?? Didn't have a child but used his charity work to hide his paedophilia. Surely, if you have a difficulty in your own life, why would you want to cause problems in others

An odious character if there ever was.Though I think the majority of his sex case stuff was “casting couch “ stuff .No excuse though you can’t just semi force a bird to bone you on a random promise.Had a fair few celebs as character witnesses in court which is a rarity in those cases .pretty sure one of the women victims was 14/15 though so he knew the risks .He ruined a lot of lives and careers so most would say it was poetic justice .

Remember that Clifford couldn't do his publicist work alone. He employed the media - press, TV etc. Why did they publish, or not publish, his stories?
And then of course there are the suckers like us who read and believe all that crap.

So a guy has just died in prison. I'm wondering why the need to post judgemental, negative comments on his character, especially so soon after his death. I'm just glad there is zero possibility of his family and friends reading this site.

Yes, we should all be posting how lovely, friendly, caring and honest he was whilst also using the usual cliches of "whenever he walked into a room he made everyone happy", etc. ignoring the real person underneath, no matter how bad he was.

Unfortunately the victims of his lies didn't have the luxury of shielding their family and friends from the bullshit he peddled over the years, so I wouldn't shed any tears if his family were to be sent a transcript of all the comments on this page, detailing what a slimy, odious turd they were related to.
