He wasn't on his own today I'm afraid. Give the lad a break please.

Sh!t, I've gone and broken my silence which I promised myself I wouldn't do tonight - preferring
to wait until tomorrow when I have calmed down a bit.

Oh well, so much for restraint. Off to bed now as will be up early in the morning with my 3
year old grandson.

Goodnight all.

Totally agree. Played billy big ******** kicking Vertonghen from behind, shirked two challenges and lost the ball twice. Not good enough for this level.

No you are not, you are slagging off a player with no other reason than to draw comment from football fans, you are not one.

that was not a message, it was a post to say look at me and my forthright and incisive opinion, but cloaked in crass and inane mindlessness.

He's returned from an injury lay off and played this level for all of 10 minutes in a game where his team mates couldn't retain the ball. Might be a tad premature to be writing him off.

Played last ten minutes of a game we had thoroughly been outplayed in and seen plenty of sub par performances in, yet that is enough to write him off completely. Unbelievable.

Who is writing him off I'm just saying that was the worst cameo I have ever seen from a Burnley player

ings, vokes, defour, all initially hopeless, wells walked into a thrashing having had no previous games.

MDWat says he not good enough for this level after this cameo. I think I’ll trust Mr Dyche on this one.

Players names should have capital letters. Nite Nite

you need to be able to think back if you are serious about rubbishing a footballer who entered a malestrom, then decide to ridicule him for being poor.

You can’t judge a young lad on 10 minutes.

On another thread you say you always stay to the end to support your team ‘ala Uber fan’ and now you’re lambasting a 10 minute debut, 0-3 down against a top drawer side.

To make a point of it and start a thread is a bit sad to be honest.

A bold claim I hope you can back it up with facts - newspaper reports for the past 150 years, radio archive recordings that kind of thing.
In my opinion there are likely to be at least 10 worse cameo appearances from the 1980s alone.

Even my 11yr old lad remarked when he was coming on 'what a time to make your debut'.
3-0 down system gone to cocktail with three strikers on. Teams confidence gone. Nobody wanting the ball.

P.S I once saw Ronnie Jepson come on for the last 15 minutes and not touch the ball, he just chased the ball around 5 yards behind play. Stan loved him though.

What a sad thread this is, he comes on for 5 minutes with us 3-0 down, the lad never had a chance so it's out of order slagging him off.

I’ve seen plenty of him before he came here to know he’s not good enough. It’s not the first time I’ve seen him play. Come on.

Thank you. I was desperately trying to think of his name.
If memory serves me correctly, he came on as a sub midway through the first half, and was himself subbed shortly after half-time, - and not due to injury.

A bit harsh. The game was over by that point. Apart from Defour, I'd say every player was well below par.

Ade v Sunderland sent off for lumping the Sunderland defender after taking exception to a tackle.
Redeemed himself years later v Chelsea in the league cup win

Yea your probably right only been going on the Turf for about 46 years nowhere near enough time to know Well's cameo was one of the shittiest debut's in our history.. IMO of course

Definitely harsh but even I can tell Wells isn't a PL standard footballer, now some will say ''well I'll trust Dyche and not you'' (which is a cop out) but Dyche did sign Juke and Sordell for a PL survival campaign and yes, I wrote them off as not good enough before they kicked a ball.
