She has to have a major operation on it when the swelling has gone down. She's done the worst thing you can do to an ankle, broken the bones that keep it all together apparently! Hear's to a sober new year.

You should nip out to get her something nice and return about 12've hours later with her half of a kebab and a bunch of dandelions in a pale ale bottle.

Comiserations Mrs westmids claret, this time four years ago I broke my elbow had to have an operation to have it pinned, spent new years eve high as a kite on pain killers.
Good as new now, hope all goes well for you

I think a bungalow is a bit over the top.
My good friend in Clitheroe runs his own Mobility business, I can arrange a good discount for fellow Clarets. Stair lifts with a 10% reduction in the new year.
He has a great deal on for used commodes too at present, could be useful short term!

Sympathy to Mrs Westmidsclaret. I did exactly the same thing almost two years ago coming home from t’Turf. Broke all three major bones. Op was successful and I’m right as rain now, with a heavy metal ankle - plate, pins and screws. Can walk and run fine. Six weeks in a cast and then a few more weeks hopping about on crutches. Get well soon!

Well that isn't going to be happening to me for a while now.

They had to cut the foot plaster part off at 4am due to the swelling getting worse so she may be in hospital for a while as they won't operate until the swelling has more or less gone.
