Interesting video showing some of the policing of the Birmingham v Aston Villa game. The Villa fans were held in the ground for 90 mins after the final whistle.

The Brum derby is one that still sees violent confrontations on a regular basis. All over the city. The rest of the season it is a fairly friendly rivalry but on match days it gets decidedly silly.

Those police on the ground, they were up for it. That’s why they became coppers

Why was the silver commander lamenting what should have been happening, instead of making it happen sooner?

The 7th minute shows some Villa fans and I'm sure one of them has a Burnley scarf on. I don't think there is a "U" in Aston Villa

I think it says ‘Proud’ or something

Very embarrassing all round.
What possesss a group of people to hang around like that after a game is beyond me.
What is worrying is that the police clearly didn’t have any type of coherent strategy. You can see that with how exasperated some of the officers were getting.

'Police' and 'coherent strategy' in the same sentence. Could it happen?

"No, he was rather well humoured about it really"
