Leaving early

Don’t worrt this isn’t against those in general that leave early but a specific sort
The sort that have parked in the car park behind the James Hargreaves
The sort that decide to leave early and set off only to be stopped by a steward those blocking the walkways alongside the cricket ground.
Yet again it happened after the game causing a bottle neck where people including small children were tightly packed against each other.
I’m sure it’s part of the t&c of receiving a permit to park there that you are not allowed to move your vehicle prior to 30mins after the game yet it still happens every match

It would have been better for the steward just to allow them out rather than stop them where he did.

Did I ever tell you I've never left a game in my life till the ref blows the final whistle and I stay an extra 3 or 4 minutes to applaud the team off,and going for a pie,**** or a pint five minutes b4 half time is fecking criminal!

No. The moral here is you want to leave early fine, but don’t park in the JH car park and expect to be able to leave

Why leave a premium event you have paid top dollar to watch,it's like buying a starter and a sweet from Tesco, coming out of the supermarket then throwing the sweet in the dustbin.

I think we have the same opinion steve
I not one that would leave early but appreciate that some have to, it’s those that leave early that, set off in their car from the back of the JH, then have to sit there for 30mins because they’ve been stopped by stewards as they shouldn’t yet be driving

The moral of the story then is stop being a bone idle tosser and park elsewhere

At Old Trafford cars are stopped from leaving the car parks out front 10mins before the end of the game and about 30mins afterwards.

This had the danger of turning into a bit of a nasty incident as I went past. A number of people (me included) were getting frustrated at not being able to get past. A few were banging on the car, shouting things - as I went past I was glad I'd said nowt because there were some clearly terrified small children inside the vehicle. I hope they managed to resolve this situation without too many further issues. However, if the stewards are not going to allow cars to leave the car park they really mustn't stop them in such a dangerous spot.

This!
Poor woman was terrified let alone the three kids in the back seats. Some blokes need to have a word with themselves for their actions, banging on the windows and shouting obscenities. If taking an extra 5 minutes to get out of the ground causes someone that much anger then I worry for them.
Ultimately the numpty ground staff person had held her vehicle back into the tightest part of the fencing which caused the bottleneck, if she had been allowed to move forwards 6 feet there wouldnt have been a problem.

For those of us with a 4 hour drive home leaving just 1 minute early makes a massive difference in getting out of Burnley.
Away games I stay to the end as I haven't got a clue where to go anyway

As I said earlier I haven’t got an issue with those leaving early for whatever’s reason they may have, but you know that if you park in that car park you can’t leave the car park until a certain time so why try too

Quick question as I have never used the car park (or any other for that matter - I usually park away from the ground to avoid the problems anyway) but why exactly do they not let people leave if needs be, there can be any number of reasons including emergencies, what do they have a problem with?

There was a lady with young children in her car trying to get out on road from the JH stand alongside the cricket field. slowed everybody down exiting the game, she was sounding her horn getting frustrated, there was no way she was moving anywhere until all the crowds dispersed.
If I use the company box and get a carpark pass you wait 30 minutes for the crowds to clear.

To be fair to the ground staff they were trying to get the out of the way by getting her to move to the left where the entrance to the tv van parking area. The crowd pushing past probably didn’t realise.

She was sounding her horn because people were banging their hands on the car roof.

May have misunderstood - I don't use that car park - chances of getting out of there quickly look pretty slim anyway
