Not sure who is commentating on the game but stated he doesn't know what Jack Cork brings to the team he never really tackles or plays a killer pass but is still young so has time to learn, how do these clowns earn a living?

I've never heard that summariser before, but that should be his last appearance on the airwaves ! Dreadful !

The summariser was Steve Eyre, youth player in the nineties that didn't make it. Jack Cork has been off the pace recently but to question his attributes is complete stupidity.

The football genius that is Steven Eyre. Radio Lancashire is truly abysmal. Still makes a change from Lennie Johnrose slagging us off

This was my first guess because I know Weller likes to talk absolute balls to generate a bit of fuss.

Cork has been class this season but he was off the pace against Liverpool. He does the small things that doesn't get noticed but he can play a killer pass too (Ward at Chelsea?)

Steve Eyre was in our youth team. Didn’t he get the manager’s job at Rochdale for a time?

Fred Eyres - class speaker - he once reported that Man City almost signed Salford Van Hire because they though he was a Dutch International !!

Think he was a youth team coach at city before he got the Rochdale job.

Fred Eyre's books are well worth a read, he was a hopeless player (his opinion) who was at city and ended up at Wigan. His son, Steve was a coach at city and had a short spell as Rochdale manager. He might actually be back at city as a coach, highly regarded. He has done radio on GMR.

Back to Jack Cork, against Spurs, Liverpool and City he has looked off the pace. Not sure if it's down to tiredness or that the teams mentioned don't give him anytime on the ball. It does affect the way we play doing this.

Another Fred Eyres Classic: Headline in the Manchester Evening News: will City be at full strength or is Eyres playing today ?!

Surprised he played Cork tbh. If any of our players needed a rest, it was him. I'd give Westwood a few games alongside Defour after yesterday.

Not been at his best of late, a rest may have done him good. Started the season looking top drawer. He’ll get back too it.

I was surprised to see him start yesterday, it would have been ideal to gibe Marney a run out.

I was at a Sportsmans Dinner mid 90s at the Turf when Fred Eyre was the speaker. Top quality. One of his lines was about John Bond. He released Dean Saunders from Swansea who went on to win honours with Liverpool. He released Lee Sharpe from Birmingham City who went on to win honours at Man Utd. He released Lee Dixon from here at Burnley who went on to win honours with Arsenal. Where the f**k was John Bond when i was released by Man City.

I was listening on the way home and thought it was Clarke Carlisle, and was thinking God he talks some shite, and was confused when they called him Steve, makes sense now.

Nah. Don't confuse not blowing smoke up our arse all the time and giving his own opinion on Burnley, and that he's doing it on purpose to create a bit of fuss.

He's always spoke a bit of sense whenever I've heard him.

Absolutely top signing given little space v Liverpool or City.
Ashley Westwood in instead you can't be serious.

Westwood was excellent at Man City - hard to believe he's come in having hardly played. I'm not suggesting he should replace Cork for one minute but it confirms we've got an excellent third central midfielder.

That's odd, I seem to remember the same being said of David Jones.
Jack Cork is a better player than Jones, but still very similar and very good at what he does for us.

Dont know if it is just me but whenever I have heard Boden he always seems very negative. Especially toward Hendrick who I know isnt playing well but in my view he isnt in his proper position.

Not confusing them at all. He is deliberately controversial and I don't think he'd deny it.

Steve Eyre is on again tonight, summarising Blackpool v Shrewsbury in the Checkatrade....this time he's travelled to the ground with one of the Shrewsbury full-backs !!
