Showed enough in his brief spell to convince me that he should be starting, really like the look of this lad.

Looked direct, tricky and pacey. On that alone he needs to be in next week.

Get him out left and arfield behind Vokes.

If Arfield is fit, I’d prefer him behind Ashley (if Wood not fit)
As much as I like Sam, Barnes is the better lone striker

I'd have him out on the right with JBG on the left, agree with Scotty off Vokesy though.

He will soon fall out of favour if he tries flicks and tricks instead of the easy pass and loses the ball.

But CM is very very different from the second striker. As Hendrick has shown us

Loved his first action when he'd just come on.
Chased back, nicked the ball of one of their men, then does a Cruyff turn to beat a man but is fouled.
He looks well useful.

First Burnley player to perform a step over since a young Nathan Dyer made his debut. GK looked to have a super first touch, exciting but won't be allowed to stray from the rigid framework and probably won't start many games because he's too different. Dyche chose to play a striker on the wing ahead of him which kind of says it all.

He only trained with the team a few times. I’m sure he’s at the forefront of SDs mind after that showing, very positive and perhaps what we’ve been lacking.

By "says it all", I presume you mean that it says he hasn't been at the club a week yet and is way below speed on the defensive framework?

Like somebody else said on the other thread if we can get lennon he can play on one wing GK can play on the other and JBG can play behind striker he might get a few more goals aswell

Dyche's overview is correct plus injuries came thick and fast.
A win and all will be well again.

I cannot believe JBG cannot either have a go at whipping a cross in on his right foot or having a go on the left...he's so predicable.
Earlier in the season he did take on a defender round the outside (West Ham) his cross with his right was inch perfect for Wood's equaliser. But he cannot attack space behind a defender (never takes one on 1 v 1) and always v=cuts inside onto his left ---so predictable for a defender

One of the dangerous bits of play we have around the box is the cross from Guddy when he's cut in on his left foot.

He does look hungry, the only problem I had with him is he may be trying to impress to much as when he lost the ball, he was chasing it to the point of being on the wrong side of the pitch and Defore and Cork having to go out wide to cover him. But he's only been with us a few days, I'm sure he will be told regarding our rigid framework.

Some great touches for sure, but sometimes guilty of holding on to the ball a little too long. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt though and put it down to an eagerness to impress rather than a selfish streak like all show ponies have.
Glad he's here and i'd like to see more of him. Whist I want him to "get" us, I don't want the 'attacking with flair and pace' element drilled out of him on the training ground.

I don't think we'll get Lennon. Especially this window. Im guessing thats why we went for Nkoudou.

I’m about 97.345% certain that JBG has more assists for us with his right than his left foot
But I’d certainly play him ahead of Hendrick in that 2nd striker role, especially as we now have another winger option. Having said that, I’d also play Arfield, Defour, Barnes, Walters, Wells, Brady, CT, Rocky, one man and his dog ahead of Hendrick in that position

I hear Walcott could go to Everton. Lennon didn’t start yesterday. That potentially puts him back on our radar

We need to make that central midfield more solid Westwood and Cork with Defour playing the more advanced role

Brother in law is a Spurs fan that mentioned an interview he had a while ago - saying that Pochetino was ahouting at him whenver he took on a couple of players and put a ball in at Spurs training then he realised it was because he was not tracking back after it - he said how he undertood that was what he needed to do and startes getting praise when he tracked back after his runs - seems like if he's learnt that skill then we have the perfect player on our hands for what we need.

A good opening 5 minutes, but appeared to be lightweight and trying to hard to impress thereafter. I hope he gets the game time though as he does offer something different

JBG is our best goal creator in many a season.
If Nkoudou is half as good at creating he will do.

He quite obviously means that arfield has played well in the position which Hendrick is currently trying to play - which is true.
It could well be a good rest/ competition for Hendrick to play arfield in the Cam with N’Koudou and JBG wide. Eventually, I’d like to see us sign a winger, could be N’Koudou if he does well to then play JBG in the cam with Brady and someone else wide. JBG would do a great job there with his pace, skill and creativity.
An in form front 4 of
N’Koudou JBG Brady
—————-Wood
That would score plenty of goals, especially with Defour just behind.

When Wood returns could SD return to 442 with Wood Vokes feeding of the plentiful supply from the wings ? Though I feel that would leave mid a little thin on “steel”

Yes. That could work but true about the midfield. I’d almost think of going like this to have enough in midfield and to rest the tires cork.
Pope
Lowton Tarks Mee Taylor
JBG Hendrick Defour N’Koudou
Vokes/Wells Wood
I can see that doing quite well. You’d think if you whip a few balls into the box Vokes and Wood would get on the end of a few.

Looked more effective when he stayed out wide when attacking. Over-complicated things and was easily dispossessed when he came inside; overall promising.

I think for the rest of the season we should play. 4-4-1-1
----------------- Pope------------------
Lowton -- Tarkowski -- Mee -- Taylor
Lennon -- Cork -- Defour -- Nkoudou
------------Gudmundsson------------
-----------------Barnes-----------------(Wood when fit)

What's Hendick done wrong to get dropped?
He had a good game yesterday. You can't drop someone who did well yesterday, we played very well and were just unlucky.
People walked off the game yesterday happy with the performance, so why are any changes needed?
