Following on from the Crewe Alexandra thread and some of the stories coming out of there - mumps, 4-0 thumpings and golden goals, I got to thinking which ONE ground has given you the best and worst whilst watching the Clarets? Obviously Ewood will be high on the list of many a supporter but any other suggestions?

I`m about to think whilst giving my sick wife a leg massage...

Deepdale - from the sublime to the ridiculous, and both under Stan

Worst? - Bootham Crescent wading through the pool of **** in the awful toilets they had there

Best? - Bootham Crescent when we won the 4th Div title in the last minute.

Watching Barnes smash the opener at the Etihad with 8k clarets but the beer was undrinkable. Poured at 3 o clock in preparation for half time.

I was at all your bad choices but none of the good; my "goods" there would the the 3-2 wins under Waddle and Stan when Arthur bagged a brace.

I think we had left by the time the 5th went in, didn't see our goal. The tipping point was when Pierce took a short free kick for offside to the left back (either Deakin or Bray) who wasn't looking. It went out for a PNE throw in much to the delight of the home fans. As the Burnley end was packed they escorted out 50 of us along the touchline to a small paddock at the far end. We were already 2-0 down, even the disabled were abusing us as we walked past. We were surrounded by PNE - to left, to the right and behind. They gave it us all game!

Apologies for leaving early!! And to think someone had a go at me for leaving early against Spurs before Christmas.

My good at Deepdale would have to be winning the old second division in '72. Was like a home game only better. It didn't matter that both teams needed a point for different reasons and the second half was like watching paint dry. The atmosphere and the result was all that mattered that day.

I remember being there and getting absolutely drenched wet through and winning 2-1, but I felt Deary was one of the scorers (with Heath?)

A few where I've had really good days and bad days but one above all others is Ewood

I remember us beating Bolton there in the mid Eighties 3-0 or 3-1, can't recall the
exact season, but it was in the old Third Division. Then they built that daft supermarket
behind the goals.

However, those fond thoughts rapidly disappeared in April 1988 when we were beaten
2-1. We'd seen some trouble in the ground during the game and after, when we were in the car
in the line of traffic trying to get off the car park behind the aforementioned supermarket, a
big group of Bolton fans come down the line of cars looking for Burnley number plates
or colours and then smashing their windows. You could actually see the glass flying.
They got to about three cars away when the Old Bill turned up. Frightening.
Heard after there was loads of trouble in the ground.

Anyone remember that game and the trouble?

Wemble. Saw us lose to Spurs in the FA Cup Final in 61 and Wolves in Sherpa Van. Saw two great promotions versus our biggest rivals, Stockport, and Sheffield United.

Winning 2-1 with a Brennan screamer(2-1-78). They ended up as Champs.
Winning 3-1 and Neil Grewcock got a screamer(2-3-85). We ended up relegated

Losing 3-0 When Seamus McDonagh scored out of hand(15-1-83). We both got relegated.

boundary park 1978 : jumped up when kindon scored and landed in a pot hole , 2 mins later , same player and same pot hole ! ended up in Burnley General with a broken ankle ( never seen a keeper so scared ) .

First time going to Mill Moor and it got called off, think it was Boxing Day.

Went to the rearranged game only to discover the ground was a **** hole

Very lively inside the ground, from about 2:30 till full time there was all sorts of missiles been hurled by both sets of fans on Burnden terrace. Coins, pies, bricks, bottles the lot. Took ages to get off the car park after but it did look to be kicking off at entrance / exit of the car park. There's was plenty of trouble earlier in the season for the FA Cup game with Bolton, their fans ran on the pitch at FT to celebrate which the locals took offence to.

I was at the 3-1 game too with my Bolton fan mate, think it was 2-1 to us after about 5 minutes.

Also sat with the home fans when we lost 4-0 under Mullen. Closest we came to scoring was a shot that rebounded off the supermarket wall. Looked a bit odd when we left after their 4th on the hour! Sorry for leaving early again!!

Beating Dirty Leeds 5-1 and too many others to remember.

My late father in law and I left at 5 -0....we arrived back at Rosegrove Railway Club just before 10pm. Attached to one of the Dartboards was the back page of the Lancashire Telegraph, featuring a photo of a smiling Frank Casper, with the headline " The plastic will suit us ! ".

Your experience can’t have been that vividly remembered as I’m fairly sure Gazza never played for Burnley at Hillsborough.

He definitely played (very badly) away at Sheff Utd that season - but not at Sheff Wed.

Been loads of times when it's been dire, leaving numerous grounds.
Wolves, in the 70's when we got relegated.
Losing to the Mags in the semi is legendary.
As a young lad, losing a 2-0 lead in the mid 60s at Old Trafford. (Still never seen the 1st team win there)
Ewood...spit... Derby County games weren't much fun once either.
Blackpool in the cup was crap....Telford...Hereford at home just after Rochdale had stuffed us.
For utter empty desolation, leaving Crewe in the run up to the Orient game won't, for me, ever, ever be beaten.

Been a lot of good times too.
Spurs away. York. Carlisle. Wembley. Even losing to Derby under Mullen was amazing. (Well, the fans were)
Beating, not just beating either, playing the dirty gits off their own park, the 'unbeatable' Leeds 4-1 at there place will always be special though.

We played Sheffield Wednesday away on the first game of that season; a Sunday evening game live on ITV Digital which we won (2-0 I think).

His performance at Bramall Lane was like watching a man die.

The pub was the Bradford Arms we came under attack from the Bolton mob.Half time was a wild one for sure .No one would dare come through the doors.On the car park after the game we got revenge for the pub attack.

That season with Bolton was mad we played them at home in the leauge the week after the fa cup pitch invasion..

Yes, there was some building work going on and as you say, there was a wooden fence with a door separating the fans.
It was mayhem under the terrace.

Carlisle '92 when we took over the ground in anticipation then we went back there in August '93 as 4th Division Champions in the 1st Round of the League Cup and got hammered 4-1 in the 1st Leg.
I also remember a 3-0 drubbing on a Friday night at Ninian Park which was in direct contrast to the 2-0 win there in '92.
I was also at Cardiff the match before Sir Sean took over which was a 4-0 drubbing.
