New location for Fanzone

The new location for the Fanzone whilst the building work is underway in the corner between the Jimmy Mac and Longside stands is much better. There wasn't any bottle neck crowding situations when walking round the ground yesterday from the club shop to the back of the Longside.

Exactly what I thought. Perhaps it should be permanently moved to where the Park View stands. That would be a great location.

A zone. For fans.
Hence Fanzone. If you’re not in the zone, you’re not a fan. To be in the zone you have to be a fan.

No reason why they can't build something more permanent, much better In that location.

Wouldn’t it be good if the club bought and saved the Park View?
They could name it after a player, renovate and make it something brilliant.

It's basically a beer tent outside the ground for home fans to have a beer etc and watch footie on a screen before and after (?) the game. Plus catering vans and big screen.

Would be just another pub queuing ten deep at the bar...I don't go to the fan zone but from what I've seen all the catering vans and drinking areas plus screen are spot on,and the kids can freely mingle unlike the pubs and you bump into people freinds who are passing etc.

Another sad sight.
Was obvious it was coming though. A mess inside. And they let people bring their own cans outside.

No point buying the park view. It would cost a fair wedge and be empty most of the year.
What makes the fanzone is the decent beer at a reasonable price. It doesn’t matter if it’s in a tent or a building.

Absolutely right, the Park View couldn't make a do selling beer twice a month so I'm not sure why anyone would think the club could make any difference. The Fanzone is geared up for outside drinking in all weathers, so you don't have to take layers off to be comfortable like you might in a packed pub. It works well enough.

The only ways I would improve the fanzone is by getting a bigger tent and getting rid of 2br.
There are not enough seats indoor if it’s lashing it down like yesterday, and the 2br man is just annoying. I want to listen to the commentary or clarets player, not some Burnley Partridge

I'd be tempted to just do away with seating altogether to make more room. Most people I know pop in for a pint or two, 30 - 40 minutes at the most, stood around in small groups. I'm aware that others might find it difficult to stand however.

I meant after the park view has been demolished.... Which is a better option than seeing it boarded up and left derelict for years.

It was a good pint in there yesterday,I got it from the tent and not the bus though maybe that was the reason.

Enough drinking haunts already buy the Park View and turn it into a decent cafe. The club had one a few years back then turned it into a gym!

Post 6 and rename it The Champions in honour of all the sides that have ever finished top.
Or maybe Community will take it over as a social centre.

2 Br has got to be the worst radio station. They used to be a station for Burnley and pendle and play decent music alongside good coverage of BFC. Now it's East Lancashire and covers Blackburn as much as Burnley, plus the music is terrible now and don't get me started on the presenters (can hardly call them djs).

It's a merger between two radio stations but they retained the 2BR name which was supposed to be for the two boroughs Burnley and Pendle.

We discussed the position of the Fanzone with the club towards end of last year after a receiving a number of complaints that people were struggling to get through to get into the Longside. Basically it's been a victim of its own success in that it is very popular. The club agreed with us but said there was nowhere at the time it could move to and suggested the new position wasn't feasible, presumably because of losing the car park spaces.

The Drinking /Eating areas and toilets under the cricketfield stand have got to be the worst catering facilities in a football ground or anywhere else for that matter I've ever seen, truly shocking.

The best place for it away from the ground yesterday was so nice to walk around to the ground without dodging people with beer in their hands end of the day we are going to watch a football match if you want a drink then go to the pub utc

I couldn't get near the bar under the cricketfield end...or the toilets. As stated shocking facilities.

The only worse I have seen is at Maine road in 2001. CFS under stand is a deathtrap or serious accident waiting to happen. If they didnt open the exit it would be carnage. Dont even bother trying to leave on 90 mins in there and never go down at half time.

At £4 for a bottle of fizzy lager, which isn’t even a pint, I’d rather not drink inside the ground.
Different discussion I suppose, but the coffee inside the ground feels like it needs another spoonful of coffee in it. It’s just hot water which has been sat next to a coffee jar. I don’t like my coffee too strong either!
I don’t mind a pint in the fanzone though. I think getting rid of the chairs and having more tall tables to rest a drink would be better.

QPR in the upper deck is far far worse
