I think the said blonde bird has been here since 2nd prem
promotion usually there at the start when the players shaking hands has a folder under her arm and leaves the pitch when the mascots do etc.Not sure if she’s a customer liaison type or just there for the JHL to look at in the abcense of any bikini clad on pitch totty?

Hi folks. The lady is a Premier League Match Manager. Every Premier league game has a Match Manager, and ours is usually a lady called Jackie Brass, and I do think she did the Liverpool game on Sunday as well. People may ask what does Match Manager do. Basically she is in charge of the matchday from the Premier League's viewpoint, including to a lesser extent the match (the 90minutes). She will have a raft of paper work that requires boxes ticking, she will have conversations with all the agencies prior to the game(police, safety officer, club secretary, etc) and possibly after, she will check things like match risk assessments, fire plans, safety certificates etc. She will also record, all incidents during the game(goals, subs, bookings etc. Although her role is not in any way linked to that of the referees assessor, although she may well have to confer with him. The EFL and the FA (for FA Cup games) have match delegates as opposed to managers, but they are nowhere near as "high profile" as they just sit in the stand out of the way.

It’s part of her job to tell the referee when to start the game. I assumed it was always the ref would look at his watch start at 3pm... but it’s Jackie who gives him the nod first.
