ProSet Cards - early 90s

Anyone else partake in the weekly ritual of purchasing a gold or green foil packet of proper football cards?
My dad used to take me to a shop in Colne town centre at about 12:30, each Saturday and this would often coincide with our route to Turf Moor. £1.05 would buy me three packets and I can't describe how excited I would get about purchasing them each week.
The quality of the cards were far superior to anything you get these days. I still have my two ring-binders, both neatly filled with an almost complete set of cards.
It's nostalgic looking back at players who went on to play for Burnley.
One of life's very simple and reasonably priced pleasures. I guess these days, there's always the XBox!
Oh...and I never did get Ryan Giggs!!!
J

Yes, I enjoyed those too, but only once managed to complete an entire album...1993/94. I must've got 75+ Stuart Slaters that year!!!

This was the only collection I completed. I was a very proud seven year old. Still the best World Cup I’ve seen.

I remember the above. I had one. Never got close to filling it like.
Rather tragically completed the one for the 2014 World Cup. Probably cost me about £700!

Above Vinnie Jones (don't remember him at SUFC) and below Ogrizic (sp) - is that Mick Conroy? What team is it?

I still have my Panini 83 sticker book which I managed to fully complete ( I couldn't bare parting with the Burnley team photo or foil badge so one page is heavier than the rest as when I got them I simply overlayed it on the ones already in the book. I think there are 5 or 6 overlays

)

I had this, I think it's in my loft.
By far the best sections was the great goals section which showed goals as a diagram and which also had Gordon Banks's save in it as a sort of goal that never was.

Still have my completed Panini ‘78 sticker book. Had to send off a 30p postal order to get the last six.

Proset were absolute class. The quality and design was superb. Absolutely right when you say the cards now aren't as good in quality. The Match attax cards they make now are nowhere near as durable.
