With Everton rumoured to be looking to offload Michael Keane, should we try to bring him back and, if so, how much should we pay?

Personally think it depends on if we can hold on to Tarkowski and Mee as to whether we need to bring in a first choice defender or back-up.

Certainly would not want to pay anything near what we sold him for though, given his drop in form this season.

I'd love to have him back as long as Dyche is here. We all know what Keane is capable of in a strong defensive unit. I can't see him coming back here but you never know!

His salary would be way beyond what we'd pay.

He must be playing very poorly if the likes of Ashley Williams and Phil Jagielka are considered better options for Everton.

Started again yesterday in front of Williams.

Our defence is sound, we should go our seperate ways now, because Everton would demand 20 mill plus to recoup and I don't believe investing that amount on a defence like ours would be a good investment.

20 mil plus on a proven striker however, much better.

Has the feel of a no news weekend paper story.
Williams and Jagielka are past their best already. If they offload Keane they need three in and that doesn't work.
I'd love him back if we were going three at the back, or if someone were to come in big for Tarks.

I think and am confident that Michael Keane would come back in a flash, but it'd have to be right for both parties. It won't happen, as I think his wages now would blow us out of the water. No one man is bigger than the club.

Best centre half we have had in years. Would have him back in s heartbeat. We would have to change the system to accomnodate all 3 though.

What rumours?

I genuinely haven't seen anything to suggest they want rid.

They should be upgrading on either Jagielka or Williams instead.

He'd be sat on his arse when Tarks returns.
Maybe behind KL as well.

It's goals we need not particularly defenders but if it is a defender Keane would be a wonderful choice.

I'd be amazed if he'd come back to be a reserve. And he knows Dyche well wnough to realise that if Mee and Tarkowski are first and second choice, and stay fit, then he'll get a lot less playing time than he would at Everton.

File under Ings, Trippier, Austin and Stanislav. Then move on.

I've never known a set of fans to lust after ex players as much as us, it's ******* weird.

Keane was often caught out of position. More than Tarkowski and Long!

Good player but error prone.

You must start browsing other clubs forums to have an idea that it isn't uncommon or weird.

Only if you want to but you don't have to.

How many 'sets of fans' do you know that don't lust after ex players?

One area where we do miss Keane is from set pieces. How many times do we win the header but fail to test the keeper? We don’t have anyone who really attacks the ball. Our set piece delivery is far better than recent seasons but we fail to capitalise.

Back on topic though, no we shouldn’t go back in for Keane and no he wouldn’t come back. I doubt Everton will sell him too.

Keanes ability in the other half was as good as any defender since steve davis.

Tarks and mee hsve been outstanding. But keanes composure, pace, calmness and tackling was better.

I do think Tarks can be as good. He has most of the same attributes. But he can be more rash than Keane.

Im glad we have Tarks and Mee. But theres no way that all of a sudden keanes way worse than them. Hes just not playing under the manager that got the best of him. Whereas they are.
