Biggest home attendance of the season
It's very weird but today's home attendance is way higher than any other all season, including all the games when we've sold out.
Southampton - 19,896
Manchester United - 19,383
Liverpool - 19,296
Tottenham - 19,284
Arsenal - 19,271
Manchester City - 19,200
Stoke - 18,933
Newcastle - 18,573
West Ham - 18,535
Watford - 18,346
West Brom - 18,302
Huddersfield - 18,288
Swansea - 18,215
Crystal Palace - 18,029
These are home attendances (total attendance minus away attendance)

And yet I still spotted empty seats in the Home ends.

That can’t be right, from memory the big games were over 21000.
Re: Biggest home attendance of the season
Yet the atmosphere reflects the dull football. It feels like we're playing in an empty stadium every game.

Do amount of corporate tickets have anything to do with it. So more paying customers today?

Re: Biggest home attendance of the season
The figures I've quote above are total attendance minus away attendance. Seems crazy that Southampton was 500 more than any other.Whitgord wrote:That can’t be right, from memory the big games were over 21000.
Re: Biggest home attendance of the season
That cant be right plenty of empty seats around us in JHU and seemed to be a lot in JM upper too.

The key is where Tony has typed the words "Home attendance".Whitgord wrote:That can’t be right, from memory the big games were over 21000.
I think season ticket holders must automatically be included, regardless of whether they show up or not.

Re: Biggest home attendance of the season
I didn't word it very well and have added the line now at the top. I'm just stunned it is the biggest and it is the biggest by some distance.Whitgord wrote:Ok Fidel, I read that to mean attendance at home.
Re: Biggest home attendance of the season
It looked from the foundation bar that there's was a large block of youngsters in the JHL 20 minutes before KO , probably comps/community thing.
Re: Biggest home attendance of the season
Maybe they count fingers rather than bums on seats...

For several years now clubs announce tickets sold, not numbers through the gates.fidelcastro wrote:The key is where Tony has typed the words "Home attendance".

So yes non attending ST holders are counted.
That will include me and my 3 kids who didn't come today and my mate/his kids.

Re: Biggest home attendance of the season
first thing that caught my eye today was how full it looked, really surprised me, not that the atmosphere was enhanced by it though.

Re: Biggest home attendance of the season
bit harsh to call it the biggest home attendance, it's only a few months since Christmas and people still haven't worked off all that extra food

Re: Biggest home attendance of the season
Guys, talking about tickets sold v actual attendance is missing the point entirely here.
When I saw it posted I send a pic of the tweet to a mate with a question mark and a “chat in the pub” comment. Same conversation about how that could have been the official figure? Seems 500-600 higher than our maximin home sales, and I anticipated a gate being announced about 1,000 less than they did.

Maybe they thought we might actually win a do. Not much chance of that I'm afraid without Defour,Tarks and Brady and negative tactics.ClaretTony wrote:It's very weird but today's home attendance is way higher than any other all season, including all the games when we've sold out.

There were 3 coaches from Scotland parked up on road near cricket ground which may have been the group you saw?NL Claret wrote:It looked from the foundation bar that there's was a large block of youngsters in the JHL 20 minutes before KO , probably comps/community thing.

Re: Biggest home attendance of the season
Looking at the pictures on MOTD there were loads of empty seats at the front of the JML.
Either there were an awful lot of ST holders who didn't turn up, or the figures given out are complete BS.

Re: Biggest home attendance of the season
Surely it was a mistake...we dont have 19896 seats available in home areas
