When I was College in the late 80's one of my assignments was on the Club. Although it was a long time ago, this shot of fans behind the gold in the Beehole end may have a few familiar faces on it.

That's a good photo. Certainly the Narcos would have been interested had they known Pablo Escobar enjoyed the Beehole End's al fresco charms (just right of centre one down from the top there).

I think that it may be 1990 looking at one of the shirts a chap has on.

If it was the City cup tie then that would account for the numbers watching. I was in the Longside for that game so no point looking for meself!

The crowd size seemed to vary a lot in there depending on the weather and opponent. Leighton James scoring from the spot against Hereford I think.

Some folk think that we should be ashamed because we were battling on Hillsborough day.

Were you on this one mate against Scunthorpe? The guy got a red card for a challenge on Eli, and didn't take to kindly to the thoughts from the Longside.
I remember thinking him sticking two fingers up was either brave or very stupid.

I'm on the Scunthorpe one in the Longside, but looking very grainy and not easy to spot! (Well that's how the wife describes me tbh!)

That's very true about the Beehole being quite crowded or extremely sparse depending on the weather. It was best when it poured down part way through and some ran for cover immediately, some stuck it a while longer and some pillocks tried to pretend it wasn't happening and were just p***ed wet through, but still wouldn't acknowledge that the entire Longside was laughing at them!!!

I don't believe we ever had a minutes applause for old Jeremy Beadle (R.I.P.). Ah well it's not too late! There's always Saturday.

Same day as the Hillsborough disaster if I remember correctly.

A group of Darlo fans, mini van load, thought it would be good to go cause trouble in the Longside, they tried to escape to the Bee Hole end with the assistance of the Plod, only for the Burnley fans to follow them and give them another slap.

That's right made a bizarre set of pictures, as they were set on by fans in the Beehole end as they moved across.

Looking at the first one I couldn’t imagine it being Man City in the Cup? I know it was a sunny day, but it was January. A lot without coats on. Could it have been Peterborough at home in the April. Won 4-1?

Peterborough was a 10,000 ish crowd but the following week was Blackpool at home (on a sunny evening) with a crowd of 18,000+, more likely to be that if the Bee Hole was so well populated.

I think they may even have stalled to kick off for the Blackpool game due to the numbers who turned up.

Very probably, but don't expect me to remember individual games 30 years ago and what happened in them . :)

Edit - No not Wrexham, I've got my years mixed up.
