Barnes 10 best game I have ever seen from him

Even if we'd have lost I would've still be happy with the performance. All I asked for before the game was that we got at them from the off and TRIED to win, we absolutely did that and the result is a massive bonus. Night and day in mentality, approach from the boring negative dross in a few previous games.

Pope 8 handled well. Observed his so called poor distribution. I dont understand the criticism. Was fine.
Lowton 9. Outstanding. Linked well with lennon too.
Ward 8. Our best left back. Solid.
Tarkowski 9. Outstanding.
Mee. 8 just mee. Solid. Steady. Brave. Some mixed distribution which his only weak point.
Lennon 9 so direct and tricky. Gret on the right.
Jbg 7. Quieter than usual. But good in parts.
Westwood. 7. See jbg. Did spray one unreal ball out wide.
Cork. 7. Not his best game. Especially first half. Nearly cost us at 1 nil by not taking walcott out on halfway. Better in second.
Hendrick. 8. Actually thought he played really well. But playing him up top instead of a striker is pointless and unfair on him.
Barnes 8. First half lacked composure in two great positions first half. Second half had two very similar chances and was far better.was better alongside Wood.
Wood 9. To come on after so long out, play well and score shows how good he is

Pope 8 - his command of the area is incredibly reassuring.
Lowton 9 - if DeBruyne had played that pass Lineker et al would have been waxing lyrical.
Tarkowski 8
Mee 8
Ward 7
Lennon 8 - shock horror! Right winger plays well on the right wing.
Cork 8
Westwood 8
Gudmundsson 8
Hendrick 7 - had a good spell mid-half but he should have been hooked 6 weeks ago.
Barnes 10 MOM an incredible performance. Carragher was waxing lyrical all game and rightly so ("Keane will have him in his dreams all night".
Wood 8
All this talk about fine margins was utter sh*te! Fans simply want endeavour, application and a degree of entertainment and that is what we were served up today. Dyche finally became proactive and shamaz! pazazz! through the withdrawal of a generally ineffectual player (for 20 mins today though I actually thought he played well) we get a result.

Off tv.
Nobody was less than 7 and Barnes was 10.
Some above have gone a bit over the top or we wouldn't have beaten such a dire side just 2-1.

From TV
Pope 7 Safe; nothing spectacular today; kicking OK.
Lowton 8 defensively pretty good; in attack some excellent crosses and of course a super ball for Barnes’s goal.
Ward 6 defensively sound; not much in attack
Tarkowski 5 shaky in the first half, and not much better in the second. Not up to standard and certainly not up to his standard. Playing him instead of Long was a risk which we got away with today.
Mee 8 reliable performance.
Lennon 6 hard work, some good covering, some good crosses but not quite convincing in attack.
Westwood 7 on the whole neat and tidy with few errors.
Cork 7 same as Westwood
Gudmundsson 9 Our only real source of spark in attack; some good crosses and other work.
Hendrick 6 neat control, moved around well with Barnes. Hooked because something needed doing.
Barnes 9 (MoM) superb forward play, a real threat throughout. Excellent goal and good hold up play.
Wood 6 OK. Worked well with Barnes. Goal was almost a free header but he put it in.
The defence was sloppy in the first half and but for the abysmal Walcott we could have been three or four down. I didn’t think we really looked like scoring as Everton blocked most attempts on goal.
With Wood on in the second half we seem to up the tempo and looked more of a threat - it was the increased urgency that changed us. What a good goal our first one was although I wondered why Pickford didn’t come out, as he did for a similar Barnes chance later. When Rooney came on we seemed to lose our way a bit but at last our number of corners paid off. Why Williams did almost nothing as Wood headed in I don’t know. He’d played well up to that point. We then just saw the game out to achieve that magic forty points.
I hope this gives us a boost to move onwards and upwards but we were playing a side that didn’t look that good. What on earth has happened to Sigurdsson? He was so lackadaisical. Williams sending off seemed a bit harsh

Pope 7 one smart save.
Lowton 10 Simply outstanding and linked well with Lennon
Tarkowski 8 Bit rusty but came on strong and dominated
Mee 8 steady and brave
Ward 8 Just a good footballer and adds that bit of quality and know how.
Lennon 8 When in full throw adds something nobody else does played well and linked well with Lowton and Barnes
Cork 7 Looks tired but battled hard but at times got caught , I have found teams close him down much quicker now
Westwood 8 Our pick of central midfielders he has decent movment and positional sense (watch first goal as Tarks goes forward he slots in).
Gudmundsson 8 Worked well came very centrally a bit too much in the first half.
Hendrick 6 Is no number 10 did nothing wrong but he is the square peg in the round hall
Barnes 10 on another day he would have scored 3 but my god a **** and his holding up was top draw. You can not question the man
Wood 8 linked well with Barnes both switching into the 10 position.
Dyche 10 did what we all thought he wouldn't

Well I thought that was a really absorbing game. I thought we played well, had plenty off efforts at goal and on target, mixed up our approaches, stayed calm when we went behind, made a change at half time that gave us another dimension in this game, and got a thoroughly deserved win. Fully confident we can collect a decent points haul from the last 9 games.

Pope 7 Not much to do but did it well
Lowton 9 Great ball for the goal
Mee 8 Solid
Tarks 8 Rather have him than Keane
Ward 7 Ok defensively not much going forward
Cork 7 Battled
Westwood 8 Best game I've seen from him
Hendrick 6 Let man go for their goal but ok
JBG 8 Gave the ball away in the build up to their goal but otherwise superb
Lennon 9 MOM
Barnes 9 Brilliant display. 2 up front allowed him to run in behind in the 2nd half to great effect
Wood 7 Freed up Barnes and got his goal
Everton fans sat in the Bob Lord rubbing our noses in it when they went ahead. Loved seeing them with Egg on their faces. One was going absolutely mental with Fat Sam about the subs and at the end. Very amusing!

I thought Cork was back to his best today. He broke up the play, used the ball well (apart from a couple of mis-controls) and didn't allow Sigurdsson to really impact the game.
Lennon was what we know he can be when played on the right wing! Surely today puts to bed any theory that he might do a job on the left. From schoolboy last week to premier league class this week. Majestic stuff!
And Barnsey. What can you say? He just keeps proving the doubters wrong. His constant running caused them problems all day and allowed us to play a bit higher up the pitch. Him and Wood could be a very good pairing!

Very determined performance today.
Pope 7
Lowton 9 Wonderful threaded pass for Ashley's goal.
Tarks 9 He was immense today. Started the move for our equaliser with some very neat skill.
Mee 8 Sir Benjamin does what he does best.
Ward 8
Westwood 8 Starting to look the part of a midfield general.
Cork 8
Lennon 8 Very tidy game. BFS must be kicking himself for letting him go.
JBG 8 Loses a point for that daft pass that led to their goal but gets a point for a lovely cross for the winner.
Barnes 9* Very good game.
Hendrick 7 Had a decent 1st half IMHO.
Wood 8 They couldn't handle him and Ash 2nd half.
SD 10. He finally played the wingers on their correct sides. Halleulah!
WTF have they done to Keano? Looks a shadow of his former self.

I had forgotten what that winning feeling felt like and its so nice to have it back in my life!!
Well deserved win against as poor an Everton side as I have seen,
Pope 7 - Assured and solid. No chance with the goal.
Lowton 9 - That pass!!
Tarkowski 8 - Looked rusty at first but composure and ball playing makes us a better team.
Mee 8 - Solid as per is going to be on his gravestone. Most underrated player in the league
Ward 7 - A bit like Tarky on the ball he makes us a better team.
Gudmundsson 8 - His ability to play on the left and allow Lennon on the right was so important to us
Cork 8 - Signs he is getting back to early season form.
Westwood 7 - Ok but needs to push us forward a bit more.
Lennon 8 - Decent better on the right.
Hendrick 7 - Thought he was better and a tad unlucky to be hooked but ultimately proved to be the right decision.
Barnes 9 - MOM An Ashley Barnes Masterclass in being Ashley Barnes. Orrible to play against and a better player than lots realise.
Wood 8 - Great to have him back. A clever Centre Forward.

Sadly I had a (much) delayed flight which took off and caused me to miss part of the 2nd half on Sky (and attending the match) so I can’t rate it. What I would say is:
Lowton was my MoM. Outstanding delivery, far better than Bardsley.
Burnley were outstanding, for once a real cutting edge. That has to be the players selected and the position on the pitch they played in.
Outstanding stats (which the one about us never winning from behind is) tend to be rock solid. If that stat has ended, there must be a reason. That for me is a combination of a first choice back 4 (even back 5?), a better standard striker (Wood), pace (Lennon) playing on his correct side, and tactics (targeting Keane). Never in my time watching us in the Premier League have we had all of those. No coincidence.

So everyone forgets the two horrendous mistakes tarks made in the first half which allowed Everton chances...
