Future for Vokes?
Future for Vokes?
Wonder whether he'll want a move at the end of the season?

If we want him why would he want to move? Doubt he could move to a club at the same level and I am sure he still has a part to play here.

Unfortunatley I think he will be off.
Perhaps back to the south coast? Bournemouth and Southampton would both love him I am sure.

He might want to play regularly next season. Just wondering that's all.

Hopefully Southampton gets relegated, they sign Vokes and I get to see him tear up the Championship again.

Re: Future for Vokes?
Yeah, I expect that will be in his mind. I think he could stay as a bench option from Dyche's point of view, but like you say, he'll want first team football, which will probably be why he leaves. He'd still be a good option from the bench in certain situations though if he stays.Spijed wrote:He might want to play regularly next season. Just wondering that's all.

I agree it depends what he wants. Regular games has to be championship, but Premier League can only be with Burnley. I hope he stays.

I would think him and Wells could well leave tbh - all depends what Dyche wants

Re: Future for Vokes?
Up to him I guess but no international tournament next summer. We need to hold on to and build off our depth not let it strengthen other teams'

Re: Future for Vokes?
I hope he stays, there's still plenty of opportunities for him at Burnley.
However, bar injury he's unlikely to be a starter, which leaves the ball in his court.
If he should go it would be with everyones best wishes.

So everyone cant tug their todgers over him coming "home" and have a collective orgasm over it all whilst chanting about Leyton Orient and cutting our cloth accordingly.KefkaClaret wrote:Why on earth would we want Jay Rod?

Re: Future for Vokes?
I honestly dont think he would get first team football in the prem on a regular basis.

Re: Future for Vokes?
I think he'd be an upgrade on Vokes...
Re: Future for Vokes?
Probably won't feature much if at all again for us.
If you can't start regular with 2 forwards out and no win in 10, you probably never will

I'm sure he'll still feature for us, but I doubt he'll start if Wood is fit and ready.
Re: Future for Vokes?
Will be out in the summer with Wells I'd presume, to be make room for 1 more.

Re: Future for Vokes?
I don't think we can rely on Walters, so if Vokes and Wells both go, I'd expect 2.KRBFC wrote:Will be out in the summer with Wells I'd presume, to be make room for 1 more.
Re: Future for Vokes?
We'd have 3 strikers and Walters, presume we'll sign an attacking midfielder to play behind in one of them in a 4411. We'd have 4 central midfielders for 2 spots, with the ability to play any of 5 or 6 to fit the role behind the main striker.FactualFrank wrote:I don't think we can rely on Walters, so if Vokes and Wells both go, I'd expect 2.

Re: Future for Vokes?
Like I just said, we can't rely on Walters. He's often injured and not convinced he's good enough now anyway. So I'd want 2 to come in.KRBFC wrote:We'd have 3 strikers and Walters

Re: Future for Vokes?
We need to keep Vokes. Wells and Waters will be off and, with the problems we have signing decent strikers, he will be needed.

He won’t be going. Dyche values his squad and Vokes is well suited to our type of play.

There’s so much change potentially coming to the club, investment, player retention and recruitment just to start.
Vokes will likely be subject to what happens...

Re: Future for Vokes?
I think it could be more about Sam not getting enough football, rather than us willingly selling him.DuckworthsEA wrote:He won’t be going. Dyche values his squad and Vokes is well suited to our type of play.
Re: Future for Vokes?
We need the strikers. Injuries occur at any time.

Re: Future for Vokes?
If we do qualify for the Europa League Vokes will be an important player one of the few who wouldn't be phased by European Football.

I like Vokes and he’s been a great servant.
If he had a bit more aggression in his game he’d probably be a regular.

Re: Future for Vokes?
Walters is the one I’d like to see out of the door. Poor signing, he’s simply too old.
Re: Future for Vokes?
We have not actually seen Walters, so not sure we can comment.
