I have been trying to work out all the permutations on here as regards the possibility of playing in the Europa League if we finish the season in seventh place. I m still confused but would it be clearer if we were to finish sixth, which is still a possibility.

No matter what happens, I cannot see us beating Arsenal over 38 games, no matter how awful their season turns out to be.

- if we can hang on to 7th though, [not impossible] that would be amazing.

In a nutshell, if we finish 7th and either Man Utd, Chelsea or Spurs win the FA Cup we will qualify for the Europa League.

Basically for 7th to get in the EL we need one of the top6 to win the FA Cup.
Otherwise the FA Cup winners would get England's final spot.

When we finish 6th....I believe we will do em in May at the Emirates. I wouldn't fancy Burnley playing the long haul flight games to Uzbekistan and Siberia etc.would be counter productive.

6th sounds possible after we win at the plastic Highbury.
We have purpose and from now on, gay abandon. Arsenal are about of my the Champs League and determined to win the Europa Cup. League becomes secondary....and it already Has, to half their players.

Wish I could eat mine, I'm neither flexible enough or have enough length on it to reach.

We aren't going to finish above where we currently are. Play like we did today though and 7th is a real possibility.

I don't buy all this long flights away nonsense that gets trotted out. Either way I'd love to see us compete in continental compitition next year.

5th and 6th will definitely earn a qualification for the Europa League this season. 7th will earn a qualify if and only if the FA Cup is won by one of the top 6.

What if arsenal win the Europa cup and qualify for the champions league? Do we lose a Europa cup place or does 7th become automatically good enough?

I think finishing 5th puts you automatically in the group stages of the Europa league, 6th one qualifying round away and 7th needing to win again two teams to get into the group stages.
