When will they get on with the CFS?
As this was published in 2007 it was 11 years ahead so better than Bolton.

We don’t sell out for the majority of games. There’s no real need to do that work yet. The CFS will only be knocked down if it’s not fit for purpose or we’ve stayed up about 10 seasons in a row.

I think this was Paul Fletcher's doing. Obsolete before it was even published.

Spend the money on structure whilst we’ve got it. We could be a long time without it if we go down again.

The Turf's basic, unwelcoming and hostile.

I like it like that. Visiting teams, apparently, don't like that.
So keep it the same.

You’re doing it wrong - buy the pie before kickoff in the first half, by half time the thermonuclear temperature will have reduced enough for you to consume it, and in this weather it can be utilised as a hand warmer

Those plans shown at the top were the first ones put forward by Brendan Flood for a sports village. They were very quickly scrapped.

Our gates will improve with time and more away capacity.

Closing off the corners will improve the atmosphere.

Gates probably won’t improve. I suspect that they’d be more likely to drop than increase, for the ‘run of the mill’ games.

Unless we are doing something special (league, cup or perhaps flirting with Europe) the more fickle of our fans will get bored after a few seasons of mid table - even though that in itself would be a great achievement.

They really won't. Most PL teams maybe half fill their away allocation now and most games don't sell out. Is it worth spending a lot of money for a few extra thousand ticket sales against Chelsea, City, United and Liverpool?

We don’t need a bigger capacity. The main reasons for development should be: developing the infrastructure whilst we have the money to do so, improving the experience for home fans, increasing match day / non match day revenue streams if possible.

We have argued over this for years and everyone has different views but

if we increase capacity it would be a 2nd tier on the Bob Lord stand that would bring another 3k prime viewing seats into play.

There's not many decent seats available for a walk on and certainly not in two or threes if you want to go with friends or family.

What is clear is that there are limited seats for families to sit together which are causing people not to go or to sit apart. We don't sell out is often an argument I see on here but I can say for sure if people are having problem sitting with friends or family they wont go and of course we wont sell out under these conditions, with odd seats dotted around the stadium.

I am sure the club is aware of this and will choose what to do in the best interests of BFC. Increasing capacity or not.

I've heard in the past from sources within the club that a second tier to the Bob Lord is part of Dyche's vision for the ground development, along with the two corner stands. Maybe another season in the Prem will see this come to fruition.

Don't forget the safe standing option as well. We need to maximise creating a better / more hostile atmosphere rather than just focusing on extra seats.

The last thing we need is a ground that holds 25-30k which could become a half empty stadium *cough* Rovers.

Could a new Cricketfield stand incorporate safe standing, for home fans only? And have the corner between the Cricketfield and the James hargreaves a new section for away fans? That would be pretty hostile.

If there is any money in the pot for improvements, it would be silly to do anything when the chances of creating safe standing areas is getting nearer.
We don't need extra capacity, but we do need a better stand to accommodate a proper Kop. The CFS do their best, and the JHU is less successful, to have a large mental crowd behind the CF goal would be such a boost to the atmosphere, and the team.

If there ISNT any money in the pot for ground improvements some serious questions need asking lol...

Can't agree with that. Success breeds success. More kids will be asking Dad's to take them on. The catchment area will widen. Just like in the 60s when match specials were coming in from Rawtenstall, Bacup, Accy, Nelson etc., Especially at a time when our surrounding rivals are in lower leagues this is the perfect opportunity to go out and get these kids on board.
Even Rovers went from their 5k gates in the 70s to 30k in the 90s. Rovers took all the kids in that period, now it is our chance to get the next generation.

You would need more fans that want to sing to create what you want.
We probably only have 500 fans that sing regular the rest when we have scored or winning.

What ever happened to the plans of a new ground being built on the old Padiham Power Station site ?

Mike Garlick stated on Clarets tv that there would be the need for new stands within 5 years, out of the horses mouth & said it would cost around £30mil.

Until the Cricket Field or the Bob Lord get condemned, keep it the way it is. It won't increase attendance, and it's all about TV money, anyways. Remember, the Chicago Cubs play in the smallest stadium in the baseball big leagues, but are near the top of revenue. Same as Boston.
