I hope all those who travel with Accy Clarets are formally complaining about their leader sciving yet another trip - Far East indeed
Three of us for this one - all prepared for the long walk to the stadium from Stratford station.

Rossy - You should have come and got some tips from Accy Clarets with our reclining seats, entertainment, generously timed stop off along the way, on board refreshments. The complete stress free travel experience.
And no Leisure to crack his unfunny jokes this week - no wonder we sold out in record time

The walk from Stratford station to the stadium isnt too far, its the walk back to the station after the game that takes quite a long time.
From memory last season it took around 15 minutes to walk from the station to the stadium. However after the game the police make the away fans take a different route which involves going round in circles before eventually reaching Stratford station. Think it took somewhere between 30-35 minutes on the way back.
I was talking to a couple of the locals last season and they told me that Hackney Wick overground station is a better option for after the game. They said its around 15 minutes walk from the ground and much quieter.
If you are going by train into Euston for the game get the tube from there - Victoria line north to Highbury & Islington, then overground train from there to Hackney Wick.
For last seasons game we got the express train from Kings Cross to Stratford International, think it was only about 10 minutes. That was no problem at all, it was the long routemarch back to Stratford International after the game that caused us the problems.

Two from SW London.
May travel with some of my WHU supporting friends - that's if they are still going on....
Yes, Hackney Wick station is good for getting away from London Stadium.

Forgot to mention in my post above...........
If you are going from Euston to Hackney Wick when you get off the tube at Highbury & Islington to change for the overground, if you fancy a beer then come out of that station and there is a Wetherspoons just round the corner. Then back into the station for train to Hackney Wick!!

This is a big match....fiasco last year in playing four big games s n w and East London caused gridlock. And the after match tour was a nightmare..hopefully I'm better prepared this time staying the Friday and Saturday with family clarets in nearby Marriott. Saturday night Romford dogs.I'm usually lucky there! Utc.

Me and the eldest lad, who's now 11.
Didn't make it last season.
7.30ish train from Sheffield to St. Pancras. 20 to 30 minutes' contingency til we get the HS1 train to Stratford.
A quick walk round Olympic Park for a bit, before his big surprise, going down the big slide there.
Then a saunter over to Hackney Wick way to the Howling Hops Bar and Crate Bewery.
After the game, allowed a good hour before getting the train back as oer the above...hopefully celebrating a decent performance and maybe even 1 or 3 points!?

CRATE brewery near hackney wick. Real ale, pizza, benches on the canal side and a couple onto a carpark with other similar warehouses that have been made into bars.
Easy walk to the ground but I’m not sure what they’ll be like about colours. Wouldn’t look out of place in the NQ in Manchester

Looks like a good shout. Any idea if it tends to get packed before a game there?

Nine of us from mid-Kent. Ashford International to Stratford International by High Speed train. It sounds so cosmopolitan - neither are though.

Hackney Wick is an easier walk after the match because it doesn't have the stewards sending you round the houses. It is a smaller and less regular train though so if you're heading straight off then it won't be much faster. Good if you're going for a drink though.
Crate, and Howling Hops next door, are decent bars if you like that kind of thing. Good beer, a bit hipster (although less so on match days) but they will be pretty busy.
There's little in the way of pubs around the ground. There are a few in Westfield like the Cow or the various restaurants where you can get a drink or a few around Hackney Wick but ultimately it is all a bit crap.

Trains leave Hackney Wick every 10 minutes after the game.
