I work for a e-cigarette company that has stores all over the UK, I don’t really know anyone outside of work whose really into it.

Does anyone on here vape?

Is it just a sub for smoking or more of a hobbie?

Collecting stamps, train numbers, bird watching, football, all sports, walking etc, all hobby’s. Sucking a highly addictive poisen through a plastic pipe? Not really the same thing is it?

Some people use it to try to stop smoking, but there's a big market for kids. Because they have kiddie friendly flavours the 12 to 16 year olds see it is a cool thing to do, a bit rebellious and cheaper than fags. The danger is, of course, it is a gateway to smoking.

My lad asked me about it and I said we'd have to take him off the family health insurance so he decided against it!

But this vaping, nah. It's like alcopops or something, but even less cool. I don't mind kids doing it so much, they need to do something daft, but grown men blowing clouds of weird raspberry chemicals? Get a grip.

Everything we consume is poison when over-consuming.
Cirrhosis anyone? Why is death by alcohol or bad food seen as acceptable by our society versus this? OK to over do booze and **** food in front of the kids at a match. Don't agree with the kiddy flavours but tobacco based vaping is saving millions of people from an early death of smoking fags. And no I don't vape and don't know anyone who does it for a hobby(?!?)

You wouldn’t find conventions for walking or collecting stamps on the scale of the VapeExpos.

It’s massive business.

And highly concentrated in this area, some huge companies have their bases in Lancashire.

I’m actually really surprised by the animosity towards vaping.

It’s now endorsed by the NHS as far safer than smoking.

It absolutely shouldn’t be done if you’ve never smoked though. Unless you’re using nicotine free liquids and just like the taste.

i smoked for years and have been off cigarettes for two months now by using E-cig.
My plan is to reduce the strength of the liquid and eventually wean myself off these as well.
Never managed to quit previously, a genuine ciggy addict, but though this has been hard work, its the best alternative for me.

Carbonated drinks are bad for you, they cause tooth decay and have been linked to cancer.

I managed to quit for 3 months and then Christmas took me back to square one, too much drinking and parties.

Back on it now though! Hopefully for good this time.

Yes I vape. I gave up when my little 'un was born 5 years ago. Started on 18mg now down to 1.5mg and should be totally off nicotine by the end of the year, will I continue to vape I couldn't say as I enjoy the different flavours, like I enjoy different beers, wines and foods. I had tried cold turkey and nicotine replacement gums and inhalers but they just didn't help.
I gave it a go as a mate said it helped him and he smoked more then me.

They are still toxic but probably an improvement on tobacco. However, they should only be used outdoors to avoid secondary vaping.

Not all reports condemn vaping but there's enough in those of governments of USA, Canda, Australia, Harvard Uni etc to prove that the glycol based fluids are carcinogenic and, bearing in mind most come from unregulated Chinese sources, we're in for some issues. Same with toxic tattoo inks.

we're all going to die one day, the Italian footballer dying in his sleep shows anything can happen at any time regardless of how well you supposedly look after your body. Surviving on this earth is all down to luck, you can eat as clean as you want, it wont prevent death.

You need to be very very careful what you read with regards to reports from abroad, especially in the USA.

Big tobacco rules the roost, they will stop at nothing to keep people smoking.

Drinking water is essential for life.

Drinking anything else with a flavouring is a luxury.

Drinking 1 carbonated drink a day increases your risk of developing cancer.

How is that any different to vaping? Especially when you collerlate along side the risks associated with smoking?

Clearly better than smoking although some people use it to feed an addiction. My son has been using 18mg strength for about 5 years and it's simply a replacement for a cigarette rather than a means to wean himself off nicotine. He 'lost' his thingamajig on't Turf at the Southampton game and bought a packet of fags as soon as he got out of the ground. Unlucky for him, I had picked it up from under the seat so he wasted quite a few quid.

The worst and most annoying thing about this craze though, are those that feel the need to blow out a cloud big enough to hide a house without regard for anyone else!

The NHS advocate use of e-cigs, i doubt they would have gone down that route if they were deemed unsafe.
As for the "big clouds" do me a favour ! happy enough to walk alongside lines of traffic no doubt, or drive your own car, but suggest that a bit of steam from a leccy ciggy is catastrophic.

I've been vaping for nearly a year following smoking all sorts of crap for 40 years.

I have a vape that doesn't imitate a steam train and get away with vaping indoors at home and in the office (not open plan). Don't necessarily feel any healthier but I'm not wasting paid hours at work popping out for a smoke or being paranoid about my breath.

Will it kill me ? If not, something will....

I smoked for 35 years and had a lovely smokers cough in the morning. Cost of baccy for me and Mrs W about £200 pm. We both switched to vaping and monthly outlay now about £25 a month. That's a saving of approx £2,100 pa. And my smokers cough stopped after a matter of days and I no longer smell like an ashtray.

buy a high powered battery and a low resistance coil, I use a 75W battery and burn liquid on a 0.2 coil. You will never look back, great piece of kit and will fill a room with smoke with 3 drags.

90w on a 0.25 RDA at the moment.

Got tired of paying out big money for coils and make my own now instead.

Minikin V2 Mod & DotmodRDA combo, but if I move to a tank, the Cleito 120 is unreal.

Some interesting laws here in Singapore on this:

If you possess purchase or use anything:

That resembles, or is designed to resemble, a tobacco product;
That is capable of being smoked;
That may be used in such a way as to mimic the act of smoking; or
The packaging of which resembles, or is designed to resemble, the packaging commonly associated with tobacco products.

You will be fined up to S$2,000 (about GBP1k)

Buying vaporisers online and shipping them to Singapore for personal use is also illegal. Those guilty of the offence are liable to a fine of up to S$10,000 (GBP 5k) and/or up to 6 months’ jail. Repeat offenders are liable to a fine of up to S$20,000 (GBP10k) and/or to 12 months’ jail.

Cigarettes still legal and retailing at a similar price to UK, no vomit brown packets yet but sold from behind shutters as was the previous practice in the UK, just a matter of time before the packaging is standardised. There is also no allowance for bringing cigarettes into the country, even a single opened packet from half a mile away across the causeway in Malaysia is likely to incur the force of the local customs officials.

Have a look at RTA tanks or RDAs.

I’d recommend asking about them in a store, but essentially you wind the coil around a screwdriver yourself and fit it and then add your own cotton.

Takes a little time but saves a fortune.
