This season I've heard Everton, Arsenal and West Ham fans claim their club is being ruined and/or destroyed.
Heard fans from all 3 either crying or about to cry on the radio.

In your opinion at what point does an owner/manager start ruining/destroying a club?

Accumulation of bad decisions, not a single decision. Even Venkys could have maintained the veneer of respectability had they themselves listened to and showed a bit of respect to Allardyce.

One thing most "ruined" clubs have in common is that the owner has bunged in loads of money by way of loan, spent it, wasted it, got relegated or close to relegated, and won't promise to leave the club and leave all his money behind. So basically, the ruination comes when an owner spends money unsuccessfully.

In West Ham's case, of course, the one of the main symptoms of ruin is that they are no longer challenging for the league title, as most of their fans seem to think they used to do regularly!!!

Best asking some Orient or Blackpool fans instead of those supporting these Supa Club wannabes.

I'm not sure what the Everton owners have done wrong,sure they are having an average season but the club is stable money is being invested.
Premier League survival is all but guaranteed they should be careful what they wish for another set of fans with unrealistic expectations.

The answer is simple, when they stop being custodians and start to treat it as something other than an integral part of the community in which it sits.

I am watching with interest to see how long the Man City project lasts, before "community is cut out to allow the business to develop" or some such phrase. I will say that they appear to have done a lot of things right at the moment. The hovering up and subsequent rejection of young players (children) will be one to watch and is a future scandal in the making across the whole of top tier football.

dsr isn't far off. As soon as clubs over-reach by taking risks in the transfer market, they are asking for trouble. Poor value buys, a few injuries, a bit of bad luck puts you in real danger.
They should learn from the Clarets' model.

Realistically it's when the team starts losing. Fans will cope with any number of indignities so long as the team are winning.

Hell of a difference between a club losing games and struggling at the bottom of the league and bad owners who are damaging the club, or certainly damaging the clubs in the eyes of the supporters.

if you want to see bad clubs then the two worst right now in the league are Blackpool and Coventry. Both ruined by owners.

Can't think Everton fans will think their club is being run badly. They aren't happy with this season's results and they don't like the manager but this is a club financially stable, looking towards a new stadium within the community and a club that communicate with their supporters.

And that move from Goodison will be tricky - at least the new ground will be built for football, but the club will be put on the periphery of it's community - there is a lot that can go wrong as even Andy Dunn recognised on MotD2 extra.

The Hammers are solvent even very profitable (£43m after tax last season), not favourites for relegation and as has been pointed out everywhere took a gamble on a move to a Stadium that is not fit for football and the culture of fandom (pre match rituals, pubs, heart of community etc. etc). What the owners have done is prepared the opportunity for new owners (probably foreign and at significant profit to themselves) by making the move and demonstrating strong profitability.

There is a scenario that suggests the owners are trying to build a big enough cash pile to buy the stadium but I can't see that one ever coming to fruition.
