Don't shoot the messenger.
Tomorrow's **** saying Newcastle, Leicester & Southampton want £20m JBG.
Seriously undervalued and going nowhere except Russia for the World Cup.

I can see him going to Newcastle because it's nearer to Iceland.
Brown trousers time.

Is Benitez having a paella party to raise the funds?

Resisting bids for some of our players is going to be heavily reliant on the desire of our players to want to carry on playing for Dyche.
We already know a large number of clubs can blow us out of the water with wages, but after that we should be ok in comparisons.

Don't think he'll want to go back to the Championship.

Great player! He's involved in a lot of what's good about this team.
Would be a huge loss..... Dyche can pick 'em

Can't see why he would go to either. One unsettled chairman situation, one no manager maybe relegated, one never going to replace Mahrez unless he's sold.
If I was JBG or his agent angling for a move I'd wait til the world cup and possibly end up at somewhere like Sevilla or Dortmund or Lazio

I'd be absolutely gutted if we lost him so soon. He is my favourite player and is someone that gets Burnley fans off their seats with great regularity. He is just brilliant to watch. Got a feeling that we've got quite a bit more of JBG to see yet though!

Need to keep him really.
I feel JBG is to us what Morten Gamst Pederson was to Blackburn.
However, as we’ve proved time and time again, no one cannot be replaced.

Current value?

Only really Leicester, out of those three, have the profile to compete with us at the moment. Newcastle are still in ownership based turmoil; Southampton are a bit unstable Manager-wise; but Leicester do still look an attractive option for most players outside the Top 6.

Any bid between 20-25million, the club would have to look at seriously IMO.

I'd like to know who we think we could replace him with for that amount in the current market. Very important player for us. I hope we invest more in the overseas scouting network in the close season.

We have five first team players representing the Republic of Ireland. What more do you want?

Contender for player of the season along with Pope. He's improved again this season, looks a real threat on either wing, works hard forward and back and one of the few genuine flair players we have.
I'd be gutted if he was sold but I am hopeful he'll sign a new deal and help us out in Europe next season...

Whats his contract situation?
I think he's got a year and a half left, so you'd be surprised if his agent isn't having a look at what is out there for him

When Brady is back we'll have Lennon, Brady and JBG playing for two places, so £20m might be tempting.

Great on the wing, especially now he's playing on his natural left side, an inspiration at times, can strike a ball when he wants and his passes and crosses are often pinpoint in accuracy. He doesn't mind doing the graft either and helps out defensively when needed.
I don't believe he'll go anywhere because he seems to love it at Burnley but if anyone did come calling we must rebuff all attempts to lure him away because if we keep two players in the summer it must be JBG and Defour, the two real stand out players of European quality we have (which is not to put down anyone else, it's just that they are real quality players who would not be out of place at almost any club).

We should take the money and send them Joey Barton's Gran and suggest next time they're more specific

I’d like us to keep JBG but a good price be very tempting .Hes good for us but he ain’t no superstar . Hopefully we’re not flash enough to have our players cherry picked .

I'm in the camp that would love to see us keep a grip on 7th and qualify for Europe next season.
Then we'd need all three.

Wonder if brady will be used as a nr 10. Roi have used him there.

I'm not sure that any of our players will want to leave while we have SD as our manager and we are in the Premier League.
I just think there is something special at Burnley with the relationship between the board, SD, the players and the fans and it would take a massive amount of money to entice anyone to leave.
The club, SD and the players are getting positive media coverage and players even being considered for international duties so IMO money is the only reason.

Wonder where the 20m valuation for JBG came from?
Sounds like a lot for a player who only cost us around 2m I think it was.
Do think that he would be a valuable player for us to keep especially if we manage to get into the
Europa League as he could well shine in that.
Does make you wonder how much our squad is worth if JBG is valued at 20m.
Just guesses but Tarks - 30m, Mee - 15m, Wood - 25m, Barnes -10m, Pope - 15m, Lowton -10m?

Brilliant player our best goal creator in years. We need to get this deal done prior to the world cup which he will star in.

£20 million is a snip in context of £30+ million for Ox-Chamberlain.
It was a bit of a risk signing him as he was with a team struggling at the foot of the Championship but he's now established himself as worthy of playing in the top half of the Prem + player values have inflated enormously at the same time -so his price into us is no sort of guide to his current value.
We dont need the money do we? So its difficult to see we'd let him go for £20 million & run the risk of not being able to replace with equivalent or better.

Can't see teams offering £20m for him in fairness. Likewise, I can't see him willingly moving to the teams that have been reported there. Weekly wages may be better, but think of the bonus pay he's going to receive from us this season. Madness.

I see your point but we need 3 quality players for the wings. I’m sure they will all get plenty of game time.
Losing any of them would set us back.

If Liverpool are putting together a £40m bid for Butland then Pope has got to be worth somewhere in that region.

If the starting 11 from last Saturday were all on 3-year deals, I reckon in today`s deranged market we would be `looking for` these figures -
Pope 25m
Lowton 15m
Tarkowski 35m
Mee 20m
Ward 10m (age)
Gudmundsson 20m
Cork 15m
Westwood 10m
Lennon 5m (age)
Hendrick 10m
Barnes 15m
sub:Wood 20m

If playing every week in the PL is a big thing for him then he might look at what's happened to Andre Gray who was lets face it a fairly regular starter with us. Look at him now -does not even come off the bench when Watford are losing
