There will be some happy Reading fans in my workplace today then.

They're convinced they're going to get relegated and some I know have stopped going to see them recently.

He survived longer than I thought he would I expect he will go up the road to Oxford.

Remember when Reading and Oxford were rumoured to be combining and to take the name Thames Valley Royals.

Dont understand why clubs (and fans) dont show some patience. Especially when they have earnt it.

Sadly, last year is an eternity ago in football and patience,it seems, is exhausted amongst supporters.

Clement and Cotterill being linked by Sky.
Now they could be in trouble.

Cotterill not in betting but Clement is 1/10 with Sky Bet which suggests he's likely got the job. Warburton, who was pushing himself on SSN this morning is second favourite at 12/1 along with Steve McClaren.

Warburton and his ability to develop young stars may be s good fit.Theres no money anymore and the problem of letting their pitch get trashed by Neanderthals playing rugby on it doesnt help to make a suitable surface for football

Reading fans invade the pitch at full time. With Forest and Brighton drawing 1-1, Reading take 6th place in the play-offs. ''Nottingham Forest 1 - 2 Brighton'' then appears on the big screen, to a roar from the Clarets contingent. That 92nd Leonardo Ulloa goal for Brighton puts them into 6th at Reading's expense

The score comes up on the board around 1.55 into the video. So funny.

I find it staggering that Clement keeps getting work in the Prem and Championship.
“ the Wandsworth born boss arrives in Reading with a sparkling cv” ........ from their website.
There’s clearly a shortage of upcoming British Managers when he continues to be recycled.
I could understand an appointment until the end of the season and the club then reviewing the wider situation.

Wow some CV! He used to be assistant manager at Real Madrid and since then....?

Derby - Sacked before he could even complete a full season after spending a load of dosh.
Swansea - Kept them up and went back to square one the following season.
Reading....

Sky were reporting he was up against Cotterill for the role, so Reading fans can count themselves extremely fortunate.

Very good news for 4 of the 5 teams below them, but maybe a bit too late to save Sunderland.
Not much room for him to run up and down the touchline at Accy next season though.

The mans a legend in his own head.Flopped at Derby and Swansea.Perhaps he works cheap.Reading with no money would have been better with a player manager instead. It will be a long time before my local team get to play the Super Clarets again

Standard Clement effect is good for 6 months - might be enough to save them - though he is known in that division

Good coach useless manager might get a bounce though.
They're fortunate that the Championship has a few duffers this season.
Another club sinking too their natural level now the money has gone.

Heard is interview after being appointed

I paraphrase but he basically said that any judgement of whether he is successful as Reading manager will he made by himself

What an arrogant pr-ick he is. Awful appointment by Reading.

He is a good coach and like many others will either find success one day or disappear into obscurity.

The waffle and self belief is probably what you would reasonably expect the hear.

A bit better than the David Moyes approach at Sunderland 'We're doomed, all doomed I tell ye, DOOMED'!

Don't understand the antipathy. Is it because he celebrated a goal against us a bit too enthusiastically for some?
By the way, as I remember, we were thoroughly outplayed in that match and deserved to lose!
