NZ v England: Day 2

This could be a very long day. Early wickets required, 7 would be handy.

Still haven't fully recovered from what I witnessed on day 1.
I would say England preformed like a bunch of Lancashire league players after a night on the tiles, however that would be a disservice to the Lancashire league players!

The worst international batting preformance I have ever seen.

Rain saves the day forecast for next couple of days not great either England might get away with a draw after all
Still doesn't excuse that debacle on day 1.

Didn't bother with it on 2nd day given the state of the first day performance. They were off for rain when I got up this morning so maybe we've got away with a hiding. The only positive is getting Williamson out.

Not a good day for Irish cricket as they miss out in winner takes all WC2019 qualifier decider v Afghanistan, losing in last over

Good three wickets for Jimmy is about all that is positive from a Claret's angle.
Will he get past McGrath before his legs give out?

That was a tight game and the Irish fought there way back into it after Afghanistan got off to a flyer, however, it was the 45th over which made the difference with McCarthy going for 15 runs although he also took a wicket.
It was also notable that Afghanistan fielded probably their best team because one or two players had not been available in the group stage for various reasons.
Anyway, commiserations to the Irish but congratulations to Afghanistan who are now going to their second successive World Cup.

We need to pick this Rain bloke every match. He's done really well over the last couple of days to restrict NZ's total. If only we'd called him up for the Ashes.
