I’m looking for some artwork to put on my walls at home. I like the ones I’ve seen of Turf moor in a Lowry style - I forget the artists name but I can’t find any for sale. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Do you mean the ones by Geoffrey Birks ? They are done in a Lowry style. He was born near Bradford in 1929. Died 1993. His paintings were mainly humorous northern landscape/industrial scenes.

I have a signed, limited edition print of his titled "Off t' match" Although it doesn't show Turf Moor it is unmistakably Burnley as the characters have Claret and Blue scarfs on ; Pendle Hill is in the background and the viaduct, town hall and Leeds/Liverpool canal are in view. I took it down a couple of years ago when I moved house and it has not been rehung since. Did think about selling it but would have no idea how much it's worth or how I'd go about it.

Thanks. It wasn’t Geoff Birks but I’d be interested in seeing the painting. Can you find it online? I’ve tried and not found it

Similar to park view one but not with the new stands. There was something on this forum a few months ago that had one of the paintings. I looked to buy some but couldn’t find any for sale

Here's a link up to a location where I browsed it on line. Sold at an auction in 2009. https://www.invaluable.com/auction-lot/ ... eeb7ce33ca

Although in the auction it's titled "Pitch and Putt" the actual title is "Off t' Match" which is what is printed at the bottom of the picture.

I'd post some pics of the one I have but I'm not sure how !

Far too many straight lines. Looks like an architects blueprint!

I did like that Peter Chippendale chap someone posted about a few months ago

Howarth Gallery have some excellent ones. The one above is in there (the Peter Chippendale one).

That Higgins one is stunning!

When I lived on Tod Road (circa 1982) I did a drawing from my attic bedroom, looking across Smalley Street and up towards the Burnley Wood area. There were 19 factory chimneys to be seen. They really were a part of the Northern landscape and something special. Sadly only a few remain but I guess that is progress.

The Liverpool one my dad designed / produced. Can find out if anything still exists that he used.

The lowry style one was on sale I think in the club shop. Sister bought it for me so not sure. Got that framed at howarths.

Ok, will do. I live in Gloucestershire so It would certainly be easier to post the print in a roll up tube than it would framed !

I have an " Artists proof " copy of " Off t'match " hung in our Dining room, bought from Penny Haworth's on St James's Street 20 years ago...still love it !!

Ok. If you contact me by email then we could discuss further if you're still interested and I could send more pics (signature, limited edition number , etc). djwaddi@gmail.com

Plus, if you did change your mind on the frame I could drive to the bridge (English side to avoid the charge !) and bring the whole thing down with me. It was framed by The Framing Centre in Harrogate .... with non-reflective glass.

Those by Pstotto and Jack Kavanagh are fantastic.

I’d love to see both of their interpretations of the full ground as is.

My picture was originally part of a cover suggestion for the BFC Official match-day program, but they weren't interested at the time. Note the less than perfect copied texts. Lettering and writing I've never been any good at. This was done in the days before computers made stuff like that easier

It was scanned in 2015 but done early 90's

They might have rejected it because there weren't any crowds. Of course that could have been fixed. When I was at school I used to draw football stadiums for half the class in the chemistry lesson and everyone got on with putting 40,000 ink dots in, for the crowd instead of listening to the teacher. :D

I dropped chemistry or rather it dropped me.

Id love a version of that from my first home game. Cambridge 86 or 87 and first away game wembley 88. How much could you do one for?

I can't find the portfolio with the originals of that time. I think someone has stolen it from my flat, I've just been doing some spring cleaning and noticed it's gone missing. I'm really worried about it, right now.

If you want to put Cambridge and 88 or whatever on it then you'd have to screen grab it and do it yourself. I'm not doing it.

If you want me to do it, it's £1 million quid.

...As a favour and as a bargain. ;-)

I have a pencil/ink artwork of Turf Moor by Duncan Armstrong.

Signed and dated Padiham 1981.

It features an aerial picture of Turf Moor circa1960 .....

It used to belong to my Good Friend David, and when he passed away I bought it off his partner.

It has pride of place on my home office wall next to a framed signed Dean Marney shirt.

If I knew how to upload pictures on here could put a photo of it up.

Go to tinypic:

http://tinypic.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

click 'browse and locate the picture on your PC.

Where it says 'Resize' select 'Messageboard (640 x 480)' from the menu.

Click 'Upload'.

You may have to fill in an anti spam box.

When it's done, copy and paste the second box 'IMG Code for Forums & Message Boards' in your UPC post.
