Arnaud Beltrame

Post by bobinho » Sat Mar 24, 2018 11:35 pm

This fella will undoubtedly earn posthumously the “legion d’honouer”, and rightfully so.

What a courageous man he was.

Because of him, I will now cease referring to the French nation as “surrender monkeys”.

I know we have a thread referring to this subject, but this man deserves recognition all of his own. A proper man.

Arnaud, I salute your courage. May you rest in peace sir.

One of the bravest feats I have ever heard of. I have nothing but admiration for him.

A true hero. R.I.P sir.

the fact that you referred to an entire nation with that crass term was bad enough.

Ignore the obvious bellend Bobinho.

All people of every country on the planet have a stereotypical view of people of another country.

Arnaud went beyond the call of duty. Peace be with him.

The irony of you, of all people, criticising someone for making sweeping generalisations about certain groups of people is laughable !!!

I think he already had a Legion d’Honneur from some of his earlier life’s work in the French Special Forces. I’m not sure if you can get two.

Terribly, terribly sad.

There can be no more noble deed than to sacrifice your own life to save that of another person.

Here in France we are humbled by the heroism and altrusim of this man.

May his soul rest in peace.

Traditionally this epithet was applied to Italians, not the French.

He did his duty impeccably.

It was a most brave and honourable act and we should remember him accordingly.

RIP

“surrender monkeys”:

I think people might like to recall the fact that many French and Italian men and women joined the Resistance in their respective countries.
