That could have been a dream debut had Tarky actually headed the ball at the goal.

Proper defending there by Italy. Vardy didn't even see him coming so no time to think about the dive

One thing I dont understand. We have the best right back in world football and hes playing at right centre back to accommodate trippier.

Square pegs in round holes is a bit bizarre in this case.

Walker Stones Tarks Young (Rose) looks much better than

Trippier Walker Stones Tarks Young

You could argue a case for 5 at the back if we had 3 top centre halves.

It’s more a case of trying Walker as CH rather than accommodating Trippier.

Superb thinking by Lingard and a real strike from Vardy.
Credit Sterling as well, he has tried to keep going every time he has been fouled tonight.

Absolutely. Perhsps sterling has learnt to use his talent and pace to keep the attack going. Its much more dangerous.

Well done the ref for allowing play to carry on [Lingard was fouled twice] - great finish by Vardy.

He’s limited to how many players he can take. A couple of injuries and you can be knackered. Useful to have someone who can cover a few positions.

That has been known since last Friday and before that Southgate had let it be known that all the new faces were there to see how they worked with the group in training - Tarks only playing as a result of Gomez and Maguire injuries

Butland and Pickford both conceded plus 50 goals this season says the commentator! Why are they playing then? What does Pope have to do?
