£60000 apparently. Th Mayor wants WHU to make a contribution for the remaining games.

It's an absolute disgrace whatever this contract they signed is. They have enough money to pay for z list foreign players to languish in their reserves, yet we are funding the day to day running costs.
They are effectively running a publicly funded business, completely taking the ****.
I would laugh my rear end off if they get relegated.

Why don't they just gift aid the entrance money so West Ham can claim another twenty per cent charity payment from the government.

Why on earth is a Premier League club with a 60k average crowd that earns tens of millions of pounds a year and is paying less than £2 million a year for rent for their soulless bowl of a stadium, getting TAXPAYERS to fund their security?
Why can we not get taxpayers money to fund our security or is it because we are not based in the capital and once 'Won the World Cup'?

Just shows what a waste of money the Olympic games are.
Countries all over the world spend millions and then the facilities are barely used after.
All the people who were in charge of the committee's who fought to get the games probably had a nice payday.
Should have let it rot as a folly to the Olympic spirit.

Just following on from The Greeks - The only reason Alexander The Great invaded Persia was so they could build a load of Olympic Stadia.

How does work then? Don't BFC have to pay for extra coppers when we play Rovers for example?

Clearly the contract they got was signed off under the radar. Should be investigated and re-negotiated, complete disgrace when public services are being slashed to the bone.

Wait for the security bill if they play Millwall, who are making a late charge for the playoffs,it could be Premier League or Championship. Then imagine a Friday or Saturday night (for Sky tv) 7:45 Kick-off

Hi Ian, as a London based Claret, I recall that London was awarded the 2012 Olympics in July 2005. My memory is that Tony Blair was PM at the time and Ken Livingston Mayor of London. Decisions were taken by the Olympic committee (led by Labour politician) that the stadium should NOT be constructed so that it could be used for football after the games. Then, when the games were over, Boris Johnson, as new Mayor, was stuck with the problem of what to do with a 60,000 seater athletics stadium, which had demand for athletics on lets say 1 week every 2 years, or so....
So, we have the big issue of getting a tenant and something that can use the stadium more frequently...
It's all a big mistake. West Ham had the Olympic legacy group between a rock and a hard place.... and when have public bodies ever negotiated a sensible commerical contract?
It's ridiculous, of course, that the contract does not require WHU to pay for security. That's why there were problems when we played there. It should be a requirement of Premier League (and EFL) that the clubs are responsible for security in and around the ground - though, many clubs have often argued against picking up the tab for police support further a field.
West Ham may have ended up with a fantasticly cheap stadium deal.... BUT, it's not helping them be successful on the "meadow" that tries to pretend it is a football pitch in a football stadium.

Paul, don’t confuse the Tory bashers with facts; anybody who votes for Wastebyn is beyond redemption.

That is a sound assessment, although Lord Coe was very explicit about the whole Olympic project paying for its legacy.
There are other uses for stadia and the cost for conversion alone probably warranted a different use than football. Anyway, the money grabbers who run WHU are paying the price of betrayal with the real WHU fans.
I went last season but could not face watching football on the big screen again, so watched at home on the tv! A decline is inevitable. Half full in the Championship will do them good and give an opportunity to Champ team fans to make one visit to Olympic stadium.
Building Wembley at Wembley was political too.

No vote for any mainstream party in my lifetime. As far as democracy is concerned we may as well live in Africa.
