If Hollywood ever does another sequel to The Matrix then they have to include Barnes' goal

You must have been to my left. I know the person to my right wouldn’t have been so complimentary.

Have to agree about the Hawthorns, also one of my favourite grounds.

Just on a more cautionary note, Jack Cork was booked. Is ten yellows still resulting in a two game ban? Think Cork has nine now but stand to be corrected. Thanks.

I think it would be a bit late in the season to have accumulated too many bookings.
Seven games to go would be strange timing.

The cut off is 32 league games and we've played 31. Cork is currently on 8 with Barnes & Bardsley on 7 - so with one game to go we are clear.

Thanks for that. Sorry to be pedantic on this but if,say, Jack Cork amassed more than 10 cautions before the end of the season would it have any bearing on the start of next season?

What is the rule about being given offside in your own half?
I get that Rondon came back from an offside position in our half, but surely the free kick is taken from the offside position, not where he played the ball? That’s what West Brom were complaining about.

They changed the rules at the start of last season so the free kick is now taken from where he played the ball. Slightly alarming that professional footballers aren't aware of the rules of the game they play- makes you wonder if they're aware they have to kick the ball between the posts at the opposite end as well...

It’s 32 games for any 10 game suspension. According to the FA he’s on 8. After that it’s 15 yellows.

It’s happened enough times on the Turf now yet you still get crowd reactions as we got at West Brom. It’s absolutely staggering that their players were unaware.

For run of the mill offsides, the free kick is always taken in-line with the flag. Does this only apply if the player moves backwards from the line?

Totally agree. Also staggering Brunt was allowed to move the ball after the ref had clearly pointed out the position where the freekick should be taken. I know the ref allowed us to move it back again but surely Brunt should have been booked?
It was quite amusing watching, almost all, the West Brom fans shouting abuse at the ref when they clearly didn't know the rules

Basically to give the attacking side an advantage.
If he's come all that way to infringe the play, then why should the ( now attacking ) team be punished 20 yards for the offence.
It's a good rule, just not good that the professional players, and supposedly fans that watch the game every week, either don't know, or don't understand, to the point they screen blue murder at the officials.
