Seeing a number of posts recently on what make the north the north, and why many pundits appear to be biased towards the London clubs got me back to thinking about what they do in Oz in Rugby League. Why not a best of 3 tournament, North v South? South can have anyone born in Birmingham and below. Would be a cracker if the scouse and manc lads could actually get on.

No reason why they wouldn’t, most of them aren’t from Liverpool or Manchester anyway!

Think it was Lukaku that suggested that one too. North v South would be a quality end of season. The Pro Bowl works well every year for it in the NFL, could have a public vote to nominate players in the squad etc.

No-one cares about the pro-bowl, not even the players. All the major US sports have an equivalent and every year they tinker with the formats to try and drum up some form of public enthusiasm.

Chalfont St Giles, eh? Very nice neck of the woods. A long time ago I went to school in High Wycombe and loved cycling around Burnham Beeches and the Chalfonts. Nice memories. A long way from Turf Moor.
