Leicester fans

Somebody posted a link to a Leicester forum yesterday, that I can't find.
Nearly all posters were slagging off Simpson and Morgan. Apart from Morgans poor touch, for our first, they both played well. None of them had a bad word for Chilwell who played Chris Wood onside by 5 yds for his goal.
Football fans eh! We all have our favourites.

I thought that, after his goal, Wood was rendered pretty ineffective by Morgan. It took Vokes coming on to finally break the big defenders physical dominance.

The amount of times they played the ball out to Chilwell and the number of times it went out of play.......

Leicester’s freak season 2 years ago has heightened their expectations, while they’re now back to a level they’d have been overjoyed at prior to that one season where the big boys all seemed to have a mare.

I never used to mind Leicester, but since around 2014 they’ve had delusions of grandeur. You could argue 2016 justified that, but they’re now back to a level where they’re still elevated to an extent.

On the other hand, despite our past, we know we’re punching well above our weight.

They all played decent, but are now trying a different style than just “tw@ing it up to Vardy” as one of their fans put it.

Probably their main attacking threat in the first half and kept Matt Lowton busy. Provided two good scoring opportunities for Vardy and Mahrez. Although they had more possession in the 2nd half he seemed less effective.

I thought Chilwell had a very good game. I said to my son that he is a future England international IMHO. Very composed on the ball, two footed and with a wicked cross at pace. Lowton did very well to keep him under control.

How big is Harry Maguire?

Was he that big when he was at Hull or is he still growing / on the weights? He'd make a good ref / linesman, he passed on plenty of advice to them.

Morgan, never rated him, even when he was at Notts Forrest.

I think that he majority of fans would not rate Morgan very highly.
He has always been fortunate to have good players alongside him.
He was generally ok yesterday, but by far the poorest of the 4 centre backs on the pitch.

Like most fans, but Leicester's were particularly arrogant even before they won the league. 'Worse (sic) team we have played this season...'. How many times have we heard that? Must be bending the laws of physics in that case, as we are currently top, yes top, of the Premier League form table.

I was in the Jimmy Mac upper for the first time yesterday and the one thing I noticed was how the Burnley fans in the CFS drowned out the Leicester fans. I know they were two down after only ten minutes, but it was great to see and hear our fans in there.

We hears some walking past us at the bottom of pike hill moanong how crap we were and how theyd rather play like them and lose than win playing like us!!! Sounds like Watford fans to me - seem to th8nk they are Barca or something.

Funny because first half i thought we made them look decidedly average

People need to get over themselves regarding their title win, you don't beat the pack by 10 points over a season because someone else was having a 'bad day'. They thoroughly outplayed most teams and used their assets wisely, playing to their strengths without getting overly concerned about everyone else. The financial side had little to do with the football on the pitch.

Chilwell looked pretty good to me yesterday and most of the balls that went out of play were over-hit passes to him. The wild haired Choudray was really good in the 2nd half, he looks a good prospect. We did well to contain Leicester, who are still a good side.

We were magnificent though and the togetherness of this squad is there for all to see. We are feeling so proud of our team with the run they are on and the results over the season so far, I can only imagine what it was like to be a Leicester fan 2 seasons ago.

Chilwell was impressive going forwards on his left foot, but his defending for our opening goal was abysmal and we got at them a bit down their left early on.

Vardy and Mahrez are light years ahead of the rest of their team though. Was a bit relieved they didn't bring Albrighton on given that they had so much positive possession and field position in the second half, and his delivery from wide areas is as good as anyone. They were a bit wasteful for all the good positions they got into.

Chilwell excellent going forward. Vardy the most mobile and clinical finisher in the country. Morgan traditional big lad defender but little skill.
Lowton supreme.
Wood scored thanks to Barnes super ball.
Well done us!

Just for my little fan club i'll give you one final post following my visit to Burnley to keep you happy

First of all apart from the disastrous first 10 mins we absolutely battered you, played some great flowing football (especially in contrast to your hoofball) and deserved to come away with all 3 pts. It didnt help up coming up against 12 men with that homer of a ref giving you every single decision for the first 60 mins including a dodgy corner that led to your second goal

That said fair play you defended well and scored more than us so earned your points and as a result secured 7th place ahead of us. That is no mean feat for a little club like yours who has done nothing for the last 50 years and who have such a little fanbase where you can barely muster 20k fans when you are having your best days for a few generations. Enjoy your season in Europe cos you'll be sliding down the league and into the lower divisions very soon.

As for Burnley itself what a backward town and it is nearly as ugly as the football (or lack of it)your team plays. Thank god im not from a dump like that although in fairness I did meet and talk to a lot of nice reasonable people who are nothing like the numpties on here. Your arrogant attitude seen on this forum really doesnt seem representative of the real Burnley folk I met.

The only thing you have that I would like is your manager Dyche and I could well see his next career move coming to Leicester. If he can get you lot in to Europe just imagine what he could do with a great club like ours.

So long hillbillies see you next season

The bit about our fan base is hilarious. What a prick

Leicester has a population of 555,000. They have about 28,000 fans. Burnley has a population of 72,000 and has 20,000 fans. Wonder if Dumbo.can work.out %ages.

Doubt it. But smaller fan base or not we are 9 points above them.in the league. Suck that one up Dunno

A Leicester fan criticises the fact that we can only muster 30% of the population of the town to support the club when they have less than 10% going to watch a team that has spent less time in its history playing football at the top level than we have. Shame that they have 61% possession, more shots, more on target, more corners and committed more fouls and yet ----they lost. That surely can't be fair -----can it?

Spent 4 years in Leicester in the 90s and confirm it is a sh!thole.
