Re: Macca meets the gaffer..
Did he tell him that Hendrick offers nothing as a number 10?
Re: Macca meets the gaffer..
We ended his golfing career. He’d have at least 15 majors by now

Ayatollah what, great interview.
Re: Macca meets the gaffer..
Great interview. You can just see why the players and board really rate him. As for me best manager we have ever had.

He kind of alluded to possibly his proudest moment being when we were relegated and yet there was never being a whiff of a sacking. It's to the board and the fans credit that NOBODY wanted to lose him, even though we were struggling and the inevitable happened. That must be almost unique in football, especially in the top flight. And it's paid dividends.

Good interview, thanks for the link.
I like Steve McManaman. I grew up watching Liverpool a fair bit (sorry) and he and Fowler were probably my favourite players as a kid. He's one of the few English player to have actually 'made it' playing abroad. He was an undoubted success at Real Madrid and I've heard him speak Spanish - he's fluent! So good on him I say.

Re: Sean Dyche interview with Steve McManaman
Thanks for posting the link. The "sweat on the shirt" and "team will give everything" comments resonate. It's hard to think of a game where a Sir Sean team haven't given everything and been hard to beat- and at a minimum looked bloody organized and committed.
Comparing that to other teams I've seen, watching us since the late 80s. Even some of our better managers over that period have overseen their fair share of joke performances, inconsistency, lack of discipline, finding it impossible to win away, poor organization etc etc.

There were some fans who wanted him gone, not a massive amount, but they were out there.Dark Cloud wrote:He kind of alluded to possibly his proudest moment being when we were relegated and yet there was never being a whiff of a sacking. Has Dyche converted to Islam to win over the remaining population of Burnley? I think we need a new stand.

Another good interview, straight, honest and refreshing compared to most other football manager interviews.
