We certainly need cover at centre back, this guy sounds promising.

Always seems to get a good mention when we see him on the box maybe it's his stand out name Pontus Jansson like someone from The Life of Brian!

Recent 5yr contract, according to the article, so won't be cheap.

Depends on what release clauses were included. It'd be a surprise if his agent didn't push to include some get-outs in a deal as long as 5 years.

The Clarets twice raided Elland Road last summer, and a reunion with Charlie Taylor and Chris Wood across the Pennines - not to mention the prospect of European football next season, something West Ham cannot offer - could appeal to Jansson.
Love it.

Not a chance unless he can change his namby-pamby ways.

Gloves and a short-sleeved shirt? And he's from Sweden FFS!

Picks up a lot of pointless bookings but on the plus side bags a few from deadballs.

Nothing wrong with Swedish players or Sweden, except for the outrageous food and drink prices.
I quite like the look of a few Swedish players for the January window. Vikter Claesson could be a good candidate for the energetic attacking midfielder we need, Linus Wahlqvist (out of contract) for a back up attacking right back with Mattias Svanberg and Anton Saletros (out of contract) for first team development prospects.
Prising Pontus Jansson away from Leeds would cost us a small fortune. They are apparently making moves to bring in Filip Helander to partner him. Helender would be cheaper, but he is very pedestrian for the Premier League and I think we can do a lot better than both of them. Kyle Bartley was the quality in the Leeds defence before Swansea wisely called him back and extended his contract to prevent him being snapped up for peanuts.
I would be happy if we went back in for Worrall, providing that Forest don't try to bend us over a barrel and deplete our dry powder store with an industrial excavator. Beyond him Liam Moore must be getting fed up of skirting the bottom of the Championship table by now.
Wider afield Sven Van Beek was excellent before his foot injury and he is looking very good after recovering from it. A recent training bust up with new arrival Steven Berguis (awful conduct on Berguis part) could mean he is more amenable to leaving and his lack of recent football has reduced his visibility and market value.
Marc-Oliver Kempf is available on a free transfer during the window. However, despite his talent, he has a ridiculously bad injury record that is centred on his left knee. It might be that he has done himself more harm than good by rushing back into playing before healing fully. Waiting in the wings at Burnley and developing could give us a good cheap player for the future - if he hasn't done himself any permanent damage.
Having woken up to the urgent need for defensive depth during the last window we will certainly be looking to bring in one or two players to bolster the squad in the next window. Despite an average injury record this season (we have been very lucky in previous seasons) we have been fortunate not to have any serious injuries to our three central defenders or minor injuries to more than one at a time. Mee is currently out, but I've heard he is actually at a secret research facility where his DNA is being sampled to be used in the new cloning extension that is being planned for Gawthorpe.

Forest are choosing to play Danny Fox at CH over Worrall who couldn't even make the Forest bench yesterday.
UTC!

I like Janssen, but I think that we are more in need of a left footed center back rather than him.

If it f*cks Leeds up, I’d buy him and put him on the bench.

Long Time Lurker - I was merely commenting on the apparent need for someone from Sweden to wear gloves whilst playing for Leeds United in the English Championship in a short-sleeved shirt!

He's not showing much ambition, signing a five year deal with Leeds.

Cost Leeds a goal at Preston the other week by pretending to have a head injury. Saw him getting pelters off Leeds fans on Twitter for it.
