After I moved into my house I discovered a Rainbird system buried under years of desert sand in the back yard. Always wondered if it was worth trying to renovate it.

There. That's my exciting addition to this thread.

They should develop a mobile system --- I heard that Jurgen Klopp would be interested when he takes Liverpool away from home sometimes.

Nice to see them referring to it as the "GAWTHORPE Training Facility"!

I wonder if groundsman Barry O'Brien is as hard as his brother Chris.

I was told a story about the Spurs groundsman, Colin White and his irrigation system at White Hart Lane in the 1970-80s.

Steve Archibald was set to sign for Spurs and it seems he and his wife were being shown round White Hart Lane when somehow the irrigation system came on and gave a blast of cold water around Mrs Archibald's nether regions. White was the obvious perpetrator but he of course denied all knowledge!

In years gone by, the last thing Gawthorpe needed was irrigating !
