I've never heard of it fella (only the film).

Me thinks it may be something that is on Sky, and I don't do Sky.

Played well since he’s had this run in the side. Underrated.

Sky Atlantic. Also available on showbox. Have a watch of season 1

Original film was a cult classic. Prefer original ideas to remakes generally.

I have thoroughly enjoyed the first series of the Sky Atlantic version, so far - just 2 episodes to catch up on before moving on to series 2. Recommended.

Incidentally - I only recently spotted how similar the storyline of Jurassic Park is to the original film of Westworld. I checked and learned that both were written and directed by Michael Chrichton - which annoyed me for not realising it sooner!

Agree, if it's half as good as series 1 it'll still be awesome :)

Really liked the first series. Going to save the second series until it’s finished. Prefer watching 2 episodes at a time.

I’m sure if it’s as good as the first it will be well worth the wait.

Tries to be something. What exactly I don’t know. It’s all a bit vague. **** tv for wannabe intellectuals.

It’s not really a western like the original was -ish. As staring 11 says, you want a western? Deadwood.

Or perhaps the people watching just want to be entertained, and aren’t trying to be anything? Strange perspective there.

Things have certainly moved on from "I never watch Coronation Street".

No idea what you’re saying there. I just flick to something which keeps my attention. If it’s interesting I watch, if not I don’t. I don’t think “ooh, I must watch this because I believe myself to be X”. You must look for something different from your tv shows :? .

It's not a western.

No. It's not a western. Neither the original film, nor this new series is a western. But it's western based. The theme park is a wild west theme park. That's why I said "ish".

I understand it's more about the reasoning behind wanting to create the place, the development and growth of self awareness of the AI, and the relationships between the humans and the AI and also the relationship of the more advanced AI with the less advanced AI, but I found it a little too difficult to follow.

Or did you mean Deadwood?

Great telly, also frustrating as I'm quite used to binge watching these days

Me neither. Perhaps gave up to soon as friends highly recommend it, just too much jumping around for me, and the bit at the start where the cowboy gets off the train, shown 3 times! And then at the end the girls' dad is a different bloke! Yeah I got that the android dad was in for a re-boot, but nah! Not for me. Better stuff on than Westworld, but each to their own.

Deadwood was a good watch but had no resolution because it was cancelled, if you are going to recommend an excellent Western series then surely Godless is the best one available right now.
I'd also argue that Westworld isn't a Western, it's science fiction.
On another note I just finished Counterpart which was also excellent.

Just watched 1st ep of S2 and ( imo) it’s gone a little up it’s own arse while losing a little of the charm of S1 ,I’m gonna stock with it,though missing the touch of gravitas Hopkins gave it

S2 ep 2 is really good. I personally feel it’s been shown the wrong way round. Season 2 has a lot more explanation into the origins of Westworld without the flashbacks being confusing
