What a race!

Best I've seen in years.

Mad max strikes again, gutted for Bottas!

Did anyone else watch it?

Yep. Feel for bottas. These first few races have all been brilliant. First time in years that there has been actual excitement in f1 races, long may it continue.
Red bulls downfall is that they allow their drivers to race, any other team would have seen Ricciardo was quicker and would’ve let him through, and would’ve picked up the points. It’s not the first time this has happened to them and I think they need to alter their stance on team orders.

Haas are the bottlers of F1. Thrown more points away this season then Derby.

Hard to say Daniel was faster because of the massive effect of the headwind on the straight making the drafting car go so much quicker.

Max should start taking more responsibility for his actions. I think it was a racing incident more than anything else but he keeps pushing it too far like an amateur racer... He's in his 4th season in F1.

The Grosjean incident was hilarious, only topped by his response that he thought Ericsson had hit him!

How was that Max's fault?

It wasn't Grosjean that said "i think Ericcson hit us".

Even if I took the time to explain why it was Max at fault, your not going to get it or believe it. On that basis I am not going to bother trying.

Really, were you even watching or listening.
that’s exactly what he said shortly after driving into the wall all on his own.

Double movement in the braking zone. There is an argument though that DR wouldn't have made the corner anyway.

Anthony Davidson called it a racing incident in his analysis of it. That alone would be good enough for me.

But let's pretend it's not.

Max is infront. Max covers once and then retakes the racing line, which he's entitled to do because Riccardo isn't along side him and doesn't have his front wheels aside Max's rear wheels. Riccardo breaks very late and hits Max.

In what way is any of that inaccurate? And if none of it's innacurate then how can it possibly be Max's fault?

Double movement is something Max would be punished for. The officials would see it as causing an accident and sanction him for it. I don't believe that has happened, therefore not even the officials believe Max was to blame.

Paul di Resta was leaning towards it being Verstappen's fault because he changed direction twice. Horner said they were both at fault. It's fair to say Verstappen was at least partly culpable. I also thought it was Grosjean who said Ericsson hit him but could be wrong.

Agreed, I was merely pointing out the only way anyone could possibly look to apportion any blame to MV.

Max Verstappen is either

1) so stupid, he can't see when an accident is coming
2) so stupid, he can see an accident coming and chooses to let it happen

I wonder how long Horners hard on is going to last before he starts to punish him.

DR is doing 20 clicks more than Max, dummies one way which he covers. He then moves back across leaving DR no room and no where to go other than into the back off him.

You need to leave room for the other car.

Yes racing incident, obviously avoidable, absolutely.

Max had been driving like a idiot all race against a faster team mate.

The double movement was taken to the FIA months ago and they Said Max was allowed to do it from then on.

Horner has to be very careful in public what he says.

Only if part of the other car is along side you. if it's 30-50 feet behind you then you can leave as little space as you like.

He was about 10 feet behind him going faster, always going to be an accident.

Like I said your not going to agree or understand.

So let’s leave it there.

I understand perfectly well. I've been watching F1 for almost 30 years and i have an adequate understanding of what a driver can and cannot do with regards to overtaking and defending.

Was or is Varstappen being investigated for causing an accident? If you're so convinced it was Max's fault then surely the officials will be investigating it if you're correct. So, are they?

In the same way that.

Senna took out Prost, no action won championship.

Shumi took out Damon after hitting the wall, took no action , shumi won championship.

They don’t take action, it’s not what they do.

Like I said at the start, you have your opinion, it differs from mine.

Max is a future world champ in the right car, he is doing what Senna and Shumi did early in their careers. If you battle me you will crash. Later in his career it will pay off as it did for them as people will get out of his way.

But your the expert.

you're*

And i never suggested i was an expert. You claimed, without even asking if i was an F1 fan or not, that no matter what you said I wouldn't understand it.

You were never interested in a civil discussion over this and yet i tried to give you one anyway. Despite that you've continued to act like a child.

To recap. You started out by claiming that i couldn't possibly understand anything you had to say. Then i offered my opinion and i qualified it by explaining that i'm probably just as much a fan of the sport as you are. And now you're ending with sarcastically saying "your(sic) the expert".

Lol, so which is it? Do i know nothing, or am i an expert? And why is your opinion worth more than mine, despite you being scared to share it?
Don't bother answering. I don't care. But maybe think about it in future before you decide that your knowledge is automatically more superior than anyone elses.

Also i find it hilarious that to prove the FIA don't take action you had to go back to the mid-90s. Completely ignoring that the stewards penalised Sirokin for causing contact in the last ******* race

I see the stewards decided MV did move twice in the braking zone, they also decided DR contributed sufficiently enough to share the blame.

History has a tendency to repeat itself.

Let’s see how people react to his aggressive driving in his championship winning season.
