Possible idea for book on the Burnley shirt
Possible idea for book on the Burnley shirt
I'd value members thoughts on a project I've been working on. I've been wondering about how feasable it may be and if there would any interest in doing to do a book on the history of the Burnley shirt. This would just feature player match worn shirts.
I know the club did one a while back on the home shirts but there are all the away ones cup finals and testimonials to go at.
I've seen something similar done by wolves and Arsenal fans and they've created a coffee table style book that is pretty impressive.
I'm also aware certainly the wolves guy donated
The proceeds to a local charity.
Ive spoken to a number of fans who have shirts
and we have a good number already photographed. Would people on here be allow their shirts to be photographed?
I'll post a sample of how they would look
But any thoughts welcome and anyone who wants to contact me direct for more info
can on email. Clivelawrence@me.com

You have to mention that we stole claret and blue from Aston Villa.

Re: Possible idea for book on the Burnley shirt
if you're stuck for a title, how about "BURNLEY ARE SHIRT "
Re: Possible idea for book on the Burnley shirt
Sounds interesting - I know loads of fans who have a great affection for our home and away shirts and it’s regularly a subject that comes up and gets discussed in terms of favourite and worst shirts and what next years shirt should look like.
Of course the V home shirt wins the favourite every time and many fans would love it if a future shirt could resemble this in any way.
When we are discussing Burnley shirts the discussions often stray into certain players and memorable games. We were only doing this yesterday when we saw someone wearing an old shirt and started talking about the great Mick Conroy !
So a good idea might be to remind everyone of cult players (good or bad) who played in each of the shirts and also of any memorable games (again for good or bad reasons)

Re: Possible idea for book on the Burnley shirt
its a YES from me !
TVC15 makes some excellent suggestions.
Would also like to see designs of shirts that were rejected and 3rd choice strips that were rarely used.

This an idea of how the pictures would look, which takes about 30 minutes to do. This one was sample shirt from around 2000.

Surely it'll be better written off the cuff?

I'm going to have "Bong" on the back of my shirt, whatever the style.
It would be rude not to.

Now I know where the Nashville Predators got their colours. Formally, I think it's called "Puke Yellow".

I’d prefer them on a human to a mannequin, even if you chopped their head off on the image. The image posted just hangs a tad sloppy.

Weren't we relegated when we had the V shirt. I've never liked it for that reason.

Speaking of V shirts, vancouver, I guess you know all about the "V" design the Vancouver Canucks had in the '90s. Now THAT was different (to say the least).

I did own the V Burnley shirt, wore it proudly at school in PE.
