Andy Todd

Came on loan from Blackburn Rovers, put the rivalry to one side and gave his all for the cause. Thought he was excellent and just what we needed at the time. How things have changed...

I beginning to think I’ve forgotten more ex-players than I remember! No my memory has been jogged though remember him as a solid player. Was only here on a short term loan wasn’t he?

I remember at his first game at Stoke away someone cheered him and simultaneously flicked him the Vs when his name was read out, amused me.

Yep, a short loan spell. Remember he left to a standing ovation.

Thought he was a good player. Liked McEveley who we also loaned from Venkys.

Did well for us. Can’t recall a standing ovation though.
Think his last game was against Walsall who were that bad Facey scored three.

Seem to remember he had an injury either with us or shortly after he went back, he was transfer listed when we had him on loan. Did pretty well for Rovers after he returned, for a couple of seasons anyway.

Good player. Could have been very good for us if we could have signed him.

Just checked - 363 league appearances plus 41 in Australia. Not a bad career.

He could have been the defender to replace the Defender that was John Pender.

His signing wasn't met with universal approval because of where he came from, but he did well for us during his short time on loan. He was only with us for a month but he played eight games in that time. We wanted to keep him but he did too well and Blackburn opted to take him back and put him in their first team.

He had a really good game away at Stoke, didn't he play with David May in that one?

He did and May scored in a 2-1 win. That was Todd's debut with Gareth Farrelly & Delroy Facey, both coming in on loan from Bolton, also making debuts.

I have one of his match worn shirts, thought he did well for us.

He was great, but anything would be an improvement that season on the defenders we had. We tried Branch at centre back with Mark McGregor which has to be up there as one of the worst.

David May wasn't much better either...what an awful season! Bradford away when we won (and kind of felt like we had to win) 2-1 with that late Ian Moore header was a fantastic day though.
