Alleged Monkey Chants

Given that we were supposed to be under FA/PL investigation regarding alleged recent racist chants and no evidence nor charges have yet materialised, isn't it about time they issued a statement exonerating us ?
I think BFC should press for action to be taken or a public apology be issued to the club and fans. These were serious and quite damaging claims.
I don't think this investigation should be allowed to be forgotten as if it had never happened.

Time to call the FA out for their disgusting "Northernist" behaviour.

Well, it makes you wonder. They were pretty quick to go public once they'd been tipped off - maliciously or otherwise - about us Northern brutes but seem a tad slow to release their findings............

I'm pretty sure we weren't under any FA or PL investigation.

Only seemed to be two people who claim to have heard anything racist being said. Krbfc and UpTheBeehole. Maybe they are both waiting to give statements?

Has their local reporter done a story on the Brighton fans caught on camera singing about Zaha having malaria with others laughing finding it highly amusing ?

I believe it was the local Brighton rag that reported BHAFC we’re launching an investigation into the issue, and nothing had been referred to the FA/PL.
Given that I’m not expecting an apology any time soon.
I was on the game and the accusation is ridiculous btw.

Hughton was very vocal about BooBong so I await a statement from the sanctimonious little needle

That was pretty disgusting - if our fans behaved like that I'd hope they'd be reported and rightly so.
As for the non-existent monkey chants.. 'not proven' would be the answer. Then we'd be into Groundhog Day.

Interesting to hear Huddersfield fans booing Delphs every touch at City and our own GKN got booed at Arsenal. True fans know why but others could easily claim it was racist.

We have a catalogue of clubs that we seem to dislike us now we have grown out our pants
Leicester was first with the obnoxious Nigel Pearson
Second was Middlesbrough we seemed to snowball some rivalry with them as this came from nowhere like Stockport claimed we where their rivals
And the new one is Brighton that's picked up a bit of speed over the last few seasons and Chris Hughton picked up the pace with his allegations of monkey chanting that was happening all round the ground
This guys up for a nomination of manager of the season along with our very own I know whos head and shoulders a head in my book

The only people who have alleged that there was monkey chanting is the Brighton Argus, which you can safely file under the same click bait piece of crap as the Gazette in Middlesborough.

To be fair it was a couple of Brighton supporters on phone in shows which was the reported by the Argus. But then it was Brighton who asked the police to investigate.

Brighton should be the ones under investigation, i was sat in the JMU during the game and all who were sat around me could here the chanting from the Brighton fans, they were referring to Burnley as a town full of P...s or a town full of Pi...s [travellers], either way if thats not racist i dont know what is, Hughton must have had his hands over his ears if he didnt hear that from his own supporters.

They all got what they wanted out of it.
The media got a good "racism story" and the FA got brownie points for looking virtuous. Kick it out will be able to use it to secure more funding and Brighton get to carry on being pretentious nobs.
Wouldn't expect to hear anything else now.

I don't think you are wrong there.
Be interesting to see what happens from here on in though, especially as its slow news days from now to the World Cup.

Would like to see those reporing 'alleged' monkey chants give space for reporing that any such chants were a figment of the imagination if a couple of Brighton irks.
Sadly it was big news on the BBC website.
But i doubt it, and i'm afraid mud sticks.

Brighton fans are jealous.
They’ve never even won the second division, absolute nothing club.

Nothing to answer just like Jay Rod. Think Bong needs his ears clearing out. Clean your teeth while you are at it!

Really time the Premier League was just for Premier clubs, not any tosspot club who gets a rich benefactor to pay their way in.

Unfortunately by lying to the police about monkey chants they've done exactly what the booing of Bong was supposed to be doing, and helped to create a more difficult environment for racism to be reported and stamped out.

German police were over last week and identified a number of fans from Hannover from Cctv footage. Things will now move on with regards to prosecutions

Going back to the original post is there any official confirmation or evidence that we are "under investigation" for "monkey chants" because if not this whole thread accusing the FA of something they haven't done is exactly the same as the Brighton fans of accusing us (the monkey chants) of doing something we haven't done???

That's exactly why I opened the post as I did, using "supposed to be".
The BBC reported that Brighton had spoken to the police about the matter, I think it's fair to assume the FA/PL would have been interested.
