Don’t think we can be surprised but brilliant to see the Our manager among the nominations.

No surprise at all with the seaaon that City have had, however, it was great to see Sean amongst the nominees --he fully deserved to be.

How well would he have done had he started the season with a minus net spend?

Can't take away the silverware from City. But.

Pound for pound Sean Dyche is the better manager.

Just to put things into perspective. Everton spent more in last summer's transfer window, than Burnley Football Club have spent. EVER!

That's ever........

100 points, 100 goals. Good call. Proud of our fella though.

At least he’s been beaten by a manager that has achieved something this year. Not like the year when we went 23 unbeaten to win the Championship but Chris Hughton was a better manager for not getting promoted.

But when he makes a mess of a signing he just goes and buys another player. The goalkeeper being an example. Knowing you can make a mistake and just get the money out must make it easier.

I suspect that may he because he never won anything at a Wimbledon.

Yeah. And the other year we got promoted, after being favourites for relegation, he was beaten to manager of the season by the warm, cuddly and all round nice guy Nigel Pearson.

We weren't favourites for relegation, Yeovil were.

Considering the last team to get close to 100 points (adjusted for point inflation was something like 68 points from 42 games and would adjust to 98 points with three points for a win) would have been Liverpool under the great Bob Paisley in 1978-79 I think it would be inevitable that Pep would win it.

I know Chelsea got 95 points a few seasons ago but I was thinking of the team that had got the most points in a top flight season under 2 points for a win, who just happened to win 30 games that season, easy for working out their total under 3 points for a win.

Guardiola deserves it.

We can still take pride in Dyche being nominated. The fact that he was being talked about as the potential manager of the year with Pep Guardiola is amazing. The club and Dyche have come a long way.

If you break the records City have this season then you have to give it to Pep. After that I'd actually say Coleman, then Dyche.

Fully deserved. City had a net spend of only £200-300 mil this season. What Guardiola has done is nothing short of miraculous. Imagine how good City will be when the board back him.

Think our end to the season let Sean down.
City's end to the season won it for Pep.
At the end of the day, I'm glad SD doesn't have Premier League manager of the year on his CV, would look too good to any club in Europe looking for a manager.

"[We will sign] one or two more, no more," he said. "We cannot invest… maybe people don't believe me but we don't have the money to invest £300m every season.

"We invested a lot of money and will invest less in the future, because instead of doing it in two or three transfer windows, we did it in one. We needed it for the age [of the squad]."

The City squad badly needed investment, instead of ******* about, Pep went and fixed it in 1 transfer window and now has a squad set for years with all the youngsters. It's like Real Madrid's side, they don't spend alot these days because over the years they've spent a fortune assembling a squad capable of winning. The Chelsea team, Abramovic rarely goes huge like he did when he first walked through the door because he's built the infrastructure of players/youth system to manage the finance. I think doing it in 1 transfer window like Pep is better than the policy adopted by Man United which has seen them having to fork out big money year on year.

Summer 2017 - 156 million
January 2017 - 122 million
Summer 2016 - 181.5 million

He shaped HIS squad in the summer, the previous season was a trial run, 34 players left the club in the summer bringing in around £100M.

Regardless of how well his tactics have worked in the Prem he'll have to change them in Europe.

Three times Bayern got to the semi finals of the CL and three times they lost under his leadership.

What Dyche has done is incredible, and if he had have won it would have been fair enough.
But Pep's season will go down as one of the greatest. If he didn't win, when you look back on it, it would seem strange.

2 Champions League wins
2 UEFA Super cup Wins
2 World Club Cup wins
Something tells me he won't be changing things too much.

It was quite advantageous having Lionel Messi as his main striker.

As for Bayern, it's widely accepted his tactics didn't work and that he needed to change but wasn't prepared to do so.

His record speaks for itself regardless of who played for him. And two of the above trophies were with Bayern.

To be fair, he only spent about quarter of a billion not to win the Champions League with Bayern which is much better than he's doing with City.

He will change the premier leagues style of play again for the better.

Did you watch Citeh v. Chelski from the Etihad this year? Nothing about that was a "breath of fresh air", unless you're a fan of the back four passing it amongst themselves. One fluke goal at the start of the second half, and the game was over. (And I was asleep.)

I can't say I seen that game but I saw City carve most teams open and score a record number of goals.

Shame our Super Sean didn’t win it

If after all he has achieved this season he hasn’t won it how will he ever win it?

Wonder what would happen if we win the Europa League next season,Pep at xmas would have been my pick but City's form since the turn of the year hasn't been outstanding and Liverpool battered them twice in the Champions League. That said Pep hasn't just bought success he has transformed Delph and Sterling this season so it's not all about mega bucks.
