Not a bad return considering the games he missed and that it was his first real crack at the premier league. If some of our players can kick on next season added to the returns of Brady and Defour, as well as any potential new signings and it could be an even better next year.

Whilst I don't expect us to match or better this years achievements, I think there is very little that SD and his players could do that would surprise me now.

Wood's league goals have come one every 164 minutes which is a terrific return

Woods has been excellent. Seemed to link up better with Hendricks in the team. Performances at Everton and Bournemouth in particular spring to mind...

I thought he was another Voke but have been proved wrong!

I remember Ben Mee getting two PL goals in one season (relegation?) and was able to lord it over my Liverpool supporting brother in law as Ballotelli had only scored one PL goal that year! :)

We need someone capable of 20+ goals next season.

I believe that Stephen Ward scored v. Bournemouth (H) 2016/17 and v. Chelsea (A) 2017/18 = 2

Wood will be close if he can last a full season.

Yes, and we'll find one easily won't we? Only four players in the entire Premier League have achieved that this season - they are Salah, Kane, Aguero & Vardy. We won't get one.

Excellent return in his first season with us and first proper premier league season despite injuries and our relatively defensive game.

20 goal striker would be amazing. But I would be happy with two 10 plus strikers and 20 goals from midfield and a few from.the back.

We are virtually there with the strikers but we will never get a lot of goals from the midfield. Even in the two promotion seasons goals from the central midfielders were rare.

JBG is capable of 10 goals a season injury free, I'll looking for that from him next year.

I've been really impressed with Wood. Watching his goal back on MOTD on Saturday, I didn't realise until then that he actually meant it. It looked at the time like he knew nothing about it.

Absolutely.

with Brady, Defour, Hendrick, Lennon and even Cork along with any others coming in there is no way we shouldnt be getting 20 goals from midfield next season.

considering how little we create our strikers have done extremely well. Had we not had the injuries they would have scored more for sure, Brady was on fire when he got injured !

Yep. A close range one pouncing on a loose ball from a corner v Bournemouth and the stunner at Stamford Bridge to put us two up.
