We played Huddersfield on 30th December and the point we gained made us safe from relegation.
Could we repeat this next season? Or did Man City,
record breaking season give us a hand

We'd been debating on away trips, as we do every season, how many points would be needed. I was always the one going with the lowest number so I was the one not in the slightest bit concerned, points wise, when we went on that run without a goal. For most of the season I thought 36 would be enough but as it turned out it was just 34 and yes, that vital point came at Huddersfield.
34 points by the end of the calendar year, more than we got in either of our first two Premier League seasons.

Is it possible that next season we can start without talking about relegation? Could we just accept that, for the time being at least, we are a PL club and try to think about how high we can finish. I'm a bit sick to death of the '17th will do for me' attitude. Is our only ambition ever going to change from 'survival'?
Are Burnley fans the most 'humble' fans on earth?

You've got that self loathing, small town mentality to beat out of at least half the posters before you'll get that attitude, young man!
You CLEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARLY weren't there for the Orient game, have no idea what it means to us now and aren't a proper fan so you don't get a say!
...right?

Yes, because in all reality Burnley is a thriving Metropolis and our club is one of the great European giants. It's champions league or sack Dyche for me. Especially considering we are a club who has never fallen outside the top flight in our history.
...right?

I think it's fair to say that the club has performed above most people's expectations over the past few years.
From the outside, 2017-2018 has been hailed as a great season for Burnley, but - befitting our status as the club everyone underestimates - it has also been viewed by many as something of a "freak" achievement, and it's yet to be seen whether this is the case or not.
In less than a decade, Burnley has gone from struggling financially to one of the world's most valuable football brands.
An incredible achievement.
Next season - we start again.
Expectations - from fans and opposition alike - will be enhanced based on the recent success.
Our players and manager will be much sought after. Holding the squad together will be as important as enhancing it.
But - to repeat our success, whilst coping with the additional pressures of European competition - enhance it we must.
The pressures will be quite different too. We've seen nothing to suggest the club and our excellent manager won't cope with them, but it would be no surprise to many to see the league position slip slightly while we adjust to the bigger challenges - and I will again be relieved once 40 points is achieved.

Anybody not in the “big 6” is in danger of relegation.
3 established PL teams gone this year and West Ham & Everton sweating for a long time.
The circle is turning and we need to stay in until the “big 6” do one into permanent European competition.

The circle is always turning, except in Scotland, where, because of religious bigotry, it's been a duopoly forever. Never mix sports and religion, I say.

And, whatever happened to East Stirlingshire FC?
