I really don’t like seeing posts like this. As someone who struggles with mental health issues I have often contemplated suicide. I also fear for friends and family in the Burnley area who I know also struggle.
Take care everybody, don’t be afraid to talk

Very sad. As Rick says, talk to somebody, get help.

Correct. Weirdly was only thinking about something similar earlier as its ten years since one of my best mates passed in such circumstances. Cant believe its been so long tbh.
But no matter how bad it gets. Or how extreme or even trivial your issues seem. No matter what hardship youve been through or are going through you can overcome it. And theres someone out there who can support you. Whether its a friend or family member or even someone youve never met therws someone who can help. For all the bad theres an infinite mount of genuine people out there whi actually just care about other people.
Thats the main frustration with what happened with my mate. He was going through a very bad (and dark time). Had some demons. Had hung around with and been influenced by some dickheads. Had created his own problems too (everyones got to take some responsibility for their own actions). But he had some good family and friends. Wasnt without talent. And certainly wasnt without wit, humour and personality. And all his troubles eventually couldve passed. Be it a month a year or even a few.
When I think of everyone and everything he has missed out on in these ten years. How things and people have changed its so frustrating. Its easy to get caught up in a bubble of negativity. And hard to see past today sometimes. Even for people who dont suffer that badly. But no matter how bad it gets remember it can just as quickly get better. The mind can be a dark and lonely place at times. Try not to let it.
Get outdoors.
Speak to people.
Cut out the negative people.
Cut out the bad influences.
Try not to create your own problems - other people will create enough for you!
Remember. Sometimes lifes hard. Its a challenge. Its not always plain sailing. If you get hit by a surprise or bad news tell it to go **** itself.
Dont settle for friends or partners or bosses or etc etc that dont respect you and arent worthy of your energy.
Dont mask problems with drink or drugs.
Sorry. Bit of a ramble. But I hate to imagine the mental suffering some people have. A lot of its uncontrolable. But I do believe you can take some steps to manage it.
Oh and whatever your views on him. Alastair Campbell speaks a lot of sense about depression on his interview on joey bartons podcast (the edge).

I've been told on here and the old board that it can be nothing to do with life's events as to why someone has depression/mental issues.
You've said that folk shouldn't be afraid to talk.
So talk about it on here, and let's potentially help someone.
What makes you think of killing yourself?

A very sad situation and the leading cause of death for Men under 45.
The sooner mental health becomes less of a stigma the less lives will be lost.
