Thank Christ for that! I though this was going to be another thread about Historical Sexual Impropriety.

Me too ! He could always argue he’s been a Changing Man since then. Failing that Go Underground.

Brilliant artist for over 40 years and an absolute prodigy when you look at the lyrics and mature world view of the songs he wrote for the Jam in his youth.

Hate to think he'd got himself in a jam

Without doubt one of best and most influential musicians of modern times - In The City released by The Jam in '77 and he's still going strong over 40 years later!
Bigger legend than SD ...

A police car and a screaming siren
A pneumatic drill and ripped up concrete
A baby wailing and stray dog howling
The screech of brakes and lamp light blinking
That's entertainment, that's entertainment
A smash of glass and a rumble of boots
An electric train and a ripped up 'phone booth
Paint splattered walls and the cry of a tomcat
Lights going out and a kick in the balls
That's entertainment, that's entertainment
Days of speed and slow time Mondays
******* down with rain on a boring Wednesday
Watching the news and not eating your tea
A freezing cold flat and damp on the walls
That's entertainment, that's entertainment
Waking up at six am on a cool warm morning
Opening the windows and breathing in petrol
An amateur band rehearsing in a nearby yard
Watching the tele and thinking about your holidays
That's entertainment, that's entertainment
Waking up from bad dreams and smoking cigarettes
Cuddling a warm girl and smelling stale perfume
A hot summer's day and sticky black tarmac
Feeding ducks in the park and wishing you were far away
That's entertainment, that's entertainment
Two lovers kissing amongst the scream of midnight
Two lovers missing the tranquillity of solitude
Getting a cab and travelling on buses
Reading the graffiti about slashed seat affairs
That's entertainment, that's entertainment

I once bought a Paul Weller cd in Dublin
Played it in car as I drove to Galway
Threw it out the window in Athlone
Enough said.

Once went to see Paul Weller at the King Georges Hall. I walked out and went home after 20 minutes. I just couldn't stand being in Blackburn any longer. :o

A Pope save and a Ben Mee clearance
A pinged pass from Tarks to Lennon
Defour and Cork are midfield masters
Ash bashing and Wood scoring a goal
That's entertainment, that's entertainment

Just needs speeding up a bit.

A garbled song and a mumbled chorus
A tuneless intro and mistimed clapping
Getting faster sounding like Russian
What was the song nobody knows
Thats Burnley singing that's Burnley singing.

The speed wouldnt be a problem. But I dread to think what lyrics would come out.
