Thanks Dazzler I might be able it on my older TV.
Re: FAO Virgin Media Customers...
Well I'm quite pleased about it because I would have had to watch it on my phone via youtube or the BT app.
Or a crappy foreign stream on my tv.

Could you not watch it through your TV on either of those?
Re: FAO Virgin Media Customers...
Aye,could have done But whenever I've watched films through youtube on Tv they stutter about every 10 secs.
It gets a little annoying.
Not sure if it's a tv problem or youtube.

Re: FAO Virgin Media Customers...
I can get Youtube through the TV, but never actually watched anything via TV and YT, is there a specific URL to find the stream, or will it be found simply by searching?

Re: FAO Virgin Media Customers...
I think it depends on the tv. Newer models tend to have an Apps option with Youtube being one of them.

My TV is old - over 9 years old to be exact - it's one of the old HD Ready TVs so doesn't do anything fancy other than switching on and off.FactualFrank wrote:I think it depends on the tv. Newer models tend to have an Apps option with Youtube being one of them.

Re: FAO Virgin Media Customers...
Do Virgin Media customers not get BT Sports for free anymore? I know I used to before I switched to Sky.

Not anymore, think they ended the free subscription a few months ago, to watch BT now you need to subscribe or you can for three on the mobile app if you're with EEKRBFC wrote:Do Virgin Media customers not get BT Sports for free anymore? I know I used to before I switched to Sky.
Re: FAO Virgin Media Customers...
It was never free, it was included as part of the top TV package and still is
Re: FAO Virgin Media Customers...
Anything available for the posh folk who have sky?
Or is it a case of YouTube and HDMI out if the sky box into the laptop to link it to the TV?

See above.ClaretTony wrote:Only way I can watch it is via youtube sat at my computer
If you've got sky, just take the HDMI cable from your sky box to your laptop. The picture will then be on the TV. Put on full screen on laptop, and away you go.
Obviously your laptop is on the floor inf ront of the TV, but turn it so it isn't facing you.
Re: FAO Virgin Media Customers...

That might have worked if I'd had a lap top.MACCA wrote:See above.

Not free on Sky, had no way of watching it on my TV. Did start watching it on my PC via YouTube but got fed up after just over 10 mins with the pic freezing at times.Rightfoot wrote:its free on BT go to your tv guide and find BT Sports and its there - No Laptop needed

It's part of BT's agreement to having the rights that they'd offer the final for free.

There's an account on Facebook that sells you BT sports for £12 for the year.
Re: FAO Virgin Media Customers...
Yes I am sure it does Tony. However, those old 625 lines colour tellys fill your living room and you can't tell your Ronaldo from your Dobbo!ClaretTony wrote:No I don't, it works perfectly well thanks.
What you could do is move your tv to the bedroom and get a nice big one UHD for the lounge. Tell yourself you deserve as reward for the hard work.
World Cup in bed!

Re: FAO Virgin Media Customers...
There’s a way around that now. Use the Firefox web browser app and it usually comes up with YouTube in there. It’s exactly the same as it used to be on the app. Literally just takes 5 seconds longer.wilks_bfc wrote:You Tube use to be an app on the firestick but seems to have disappeared
