what would you do if you were Loris Karius ?
How do you think you'd cope in the aftermath of that match?
Do you think you could carry on and dust yourself down, or would it break you ?
Probably a lot worse thesedays for players with social media than it was in the past if you messed things up a bit.
I feel sorry for the lad, well paid , but he's a relatively young bloke and even though the passage of time will help a bit, its not really something you could shrug off I wouldn't have thought.
No idea whether liverpool will want shut, but it probably wont be too easy going elsewhere either.
He'll have family who will also suffer because of that game.
Did look bad that he was left alone for so long on that pitch, someone said this morning that all that talk of "win as a team, lose as a team" didn't count for much on saturday night as they chose to leave him isolated.
Now it seems there have been death threats , all fairly disgusting , but that is the modern era.

If he maintains a proper sense of perspective about life, he’ll move on from it.

I'd cancel my trips to Dubai over summer and practice catching.
Re: what would you do if you were Loris Karius ?
The death threats, if true, are absolutely abhorrent. You don't get to his level by being a bad goal keeper. He will probably be bought at a bargain price and flourish as a keeper back in Germany or elsewhere in Europe. His days in the Prem are over.

Catch the ball, not roll it to the opposition and cut that girly pony tail off.

It looked to me the Liverpool fans stuck by him from what I saw on tv whilst his “teammates” and manager left him. Absolutely appalling behaviour IMO.
The thing is with GK when they make mistakes they are also costly. But nobody questions forwards when they miss 95% of their chances.

over the years numerous players have been seen as responsible for errors that have proven costly, beckham with the sending off, waddle and co for pens.

He’s done in England. He’ll resurrect his career somewhere. I think the lack of support on the night from the rest of the Liverpool team and subsequently from elements of the support mean he’ll be forced to leave even if he wanted to stay.

Transfer Request to somewhere mid-table in Germany. Maybe Mainz?

Learn from it and move on, either with Liverpool or elsewhere.
He's not the first keeper to make an horrendous mistake, won't be the last.
Rob Green anyone?
Is he finished at Liverpool?
That depends on Klopp I suppose, but he's been fairly good for the rest of the season.

Re: what would you do if you were Loris Karius ?
I thought on the night how different it would have been if that was Pope or Heaton. Everyone would have been talking to him after the first mistake. Then the second one doesn’t happen as his head is not somewhere in the clouds. In any case Sean would have been straight over at the final whistle. You don’t leave your teammates hanging no matter how bad a game they have.

If I was him I would wait a few weeks before I collected my winnings from Paddy Power.

I'd go back to my luxury home, have a quick look at my very healthy bank balance. Pour myself a beer and think that one day doesn't have to define my life.

I would hope that at that level he would have some older and experienced retired goalkeeper to speak to, at Liverpool or someone he knows from elsewhere.
He’s not the first and won’t be the last to make such rickets in a game.

Butland made just as bad an error and people are wanting him starting for England.
Just get your head down and move on.

It should be the end of his Goa;keeping in England.
One mistake is understandable, two major boo-boo's is not acceptable.
Remember The Beast against Wigan?!

He has a lot of making up to do, but it's achievable. The crazy thing about this game.. had a striker missed 2 open goals - and I mean open, he'd be ok in a few games. It's not the same with keepers.

He could speak to Klopp in his native tongue:South West Claret. wrote:I would hope that at that level he would have some older and experienced retired goalkeeper to speak to, at Liverpool or someone he knows from elsewhere.
Loris Karius: "Hallo Gaffer"
Jürgen Klopp: "Auf Wiedersehen Karius!!!"

Sorry, Frank, but that is unlikely. Poor technique IMO.FactualFrank wrote:Watch this. He'll turn out to be one of the best goalkeepers in the world.
Incidentally, I believe the goalkeeping coach at Liverpool is former Tranmere 'keeper John Achteberg. Strange how the really top goalies don't appear interested in coaching while some lesser achievers do well at it.

There are good aspects to his game - like with his feet:boatshed bill wrote:Sorry, Frank, but that is unlikely. Poor technique IMO.

Confidence can make or break a player. It's the role of his team to stop that from happening.

everybody makes mistakes, everybody deserves another chance - I doubt it will come at Liverpool though. We all saw the difference a top goalkeeper made to Man City. Karius wouldn't even make our bench, he shouldn't be anywhere near a Liverpool team

If I were him I'd go back to my absolute 10 of a girlfriend for some 'quality time'. Bit of a stunner.

Liverpool's wonderful striker of years past 'Rocket' Ronnie Rosenthal will only be remembered for one thing in my view.

Tears of Karius is far too good a marketing opportunity to miss either way!

Re: what would you do if you were Loris Karius ?
You always get the feeling with both Karius and Mignolet that even when they appear to have an element of control over their game there's always a mistake waiting to happen.
Klopp is way off the pace when you look at the world class 'keepers at City, United, Chelsea and Spurs. Reina probably the last Liverpool custodian who was anywhere near that class.
Even now they are being linked with another batch of continental based 'keepers. Bearing in mind the amount of cash they are splashing in other areas why not just bite the bullet and sign a proven PL performer like Schmichael or Butland.
