He's a wet

I’ve not seen him present for yonks but yesterday being a bank holiday I caught two minutes of him and said ‘Partridge’ to my missus.

I was checking into a hotel at the same time as him not long ago. In my opinion he is a bit wet and runs around after his wife like a lap dog. I also thought there was a smugness about him.

Good on him! I wish presenters would do this more often, in fact all the time. If you're not going to answer a fairly straightforward question - then it's bye bye time for you, regardless of political party.

When a man of that age gets blonde streaks put in his hair it tells you all you need to know about his ego. But I must say that I wish more interviewers would cut politicians off when they don’t answer straight questions with a straight answer. So fair play to him on that score.

I must admit - the Defence Secretary's “go away and shut up” actually made me laugh out loud. It was like something a petulant child would say.

Just seen the interview. Good for Madeley, and good for us that he told him to **** off. It winds me up when these people filibuster interviews instead of giving a straight answer.

Madeley is pretty useless at everything he does....even shoplifting which isn't very difficult

He even talked all the way through his wife getting her t!ts out on live tv.

Nothing wrong with how Madeley did that interview. Need more of it.

I saw the interview with Williamson and I honestly thought the Tory really thought he could get away with evading the question. Top marks to Madeley, thought he handled it excellently and lets hope more follow his lead.

He's a bell end that man. Says to that Mayor he had on GMB " what's that thing called around your neck " ? Referring to the mayoral chain to which he replied " A chain !!!" What the f**k did he think it was!!

Hi Ashton, I didn't see the interview. Am I right to understand that Richard Madeley was a guest interviewer on the programme?

My thoughts: it's not about the interviewer, it's about gaining an understanding of the subject matter that the interviewee has been invited to deliver. I'm not sure what the viewer gains from "interview terminated...." And, I'd have expected a good interviewer to move on from questions that the interviewee demonstrates that they'd prefer not to answer - for whatever reason.

Re the specific question, I don't see the point of asking a politician "are you embarrased...." or "were you wrong..." to say what you said, do what you did, etc.

Questions that can be answered "yes" or "no" are not the best questions to learn anything. Open questions are always better for interviews. So "why did you choose to say that...?" or "did you feel you achieved what you wanted to achieve when you said that....?" might have made the interview a lot better - except in a "toys out of pram" type of way. (We can all make our own minds up about who's toys and who's pram....).
